If we were anything like the animals we would go through the bust and boom cycles that they do. Our longevity is artificially maintained but it cannot last forever because it is unnatural. We have created an imbalance in nature where a cataclysmic die off is inevitable. Humans do have some very special qualities but we are also very short sighted, incapable of foreseeing the long term consequences of our actions. All the information and signs are there but we choose to ignore them and continue blindly down the path of our own destruction. That doesn't seem too intelligent to me.

(Que silly comment from Petros ----)

Name one piece of technology or advancement that has provably come from anywhere but a natural combined evolutionary effort.

And if we're so unnatural, then why is a cataclysmic die off inevitable?

Individuals are not the same as the whole. As whole, humanity acts much like many other natural collectives... fighting over resources, consuming as it goes. That entity bumps up against the individual, whose altruism and desire to nest, demands conservation of resources. So we have programs that push the collective agenda, and programs that push the individual. It makes us unique that we understand the expressions of the individual, we're not just chimps screaming in frustration.

Sand and gravel are dirt seeds. Plants will make the dirt into soil. It's all good.

Lets say the palce is polluted, then we fill it to hide the pollution, then we put in trees and other plants, reintroduce animals there, which some are diggers, seems its acceptable for them, but we humans won't live on a contaminated land. kinda oddly hypocrite.

They don't strip mine, clear cut or engage in polluting industries. The only thing animal life does that is in any way similar to us is fart.

Well, they pretty well killed my vegetable garden a few years ago. Had to erect a fence and then there's the matter of deer sh*t (which my little granddaughter thought were raisins)

Just one taste would put her off raisins for life.

But then, perhaps not. Never tasted deer sh it. Maybe it's not bad.

It's organic.

....................now if I could just find a deer, my neighbour likes rasins.;-)

Plants have been cleaning up natural "toxic sites" before any creature set foot on dry land.
