Like folks and drugs?I am afraid like most of the gun obsessed you simply don't get it. The US has already tried the more guns solution and there is ample evidence of how well that has worked.
Here is a little history for you. I can remember identical arguments being made against seat belt use and anti-smoking laws. Opponents claimed that it was impossible to enforce such laws as the public would simply ignore them. Well, we know how that turned out. Generally speaking when a law is passed most people, even those opposed to it, will go along with the law. There will, of course, always be a few who defy the law, but over time they tend to either go away or become compliant.
Changes in Canadian laws didn't seem to have much effect. And contrary to what you think a large number of Americans, probably even a majority, are tired of having their children murdered by some nut case who acquired his arsenal legally. There will be changes in US guns laws and they will be obeyed.
Like folks and drugs?
Changes in Canadian laws didn't seem to have much effect.
Flatout BS.Nor does your comment mean that criminals will follow rules. Uhuh Yet I can scoot to town and get an illegal firearm with no problem. People can't do that now but they can beetle down to local gang and scoop one.
No it isn't.A completely fallacious argument.
Speaking of fallacious arguments.Any law can be broken, but that doesn't mean we should not have any laws.
My point exactly. For the most part Canadians don't own assault rifles or firearms in general is because the law says they shouldn't have them or makes it difficult to acquire them. I got my first rifle by walking down to Sears and buying one. I was 14. Canadians can't do that now and most of them will abide by the law.
Well, there's been a 50% decrease in the murder rate. The US has already tried the more guns solution and there is ample evidence of how well that has worked.
Smaller population.Really? So Canada's much lower murder rate is entirely due to the fact that Canadians are so much more polite than Americans?
Attitudes make a difference. Canadians have a different attitude towards firearms than Americans. Most Canadians with firearms view them as tools for hunting, target shooting, etc. We don't have the "right to bear arms" thing embedded in our constitution that relatively few Americans use as an excuse to murder people.Really? So Canada's much lower murder rate is entirely due to the fact that Canadians are so much more polite than Americans?
Grow up.Obviously you've never watched a hockey game.
I don't but I'm damned sure I could get a firearm from a gang.Right, most Canadians have intimate contact with local gangs.
which is very few and far between those murders perped by criminals. However, this has very little to do with criminals. As I have pointed out in other posts it is the supposedly law-abiding gun owners that usually take part in these mass murders.
Excep[t since '97 they've gone up.I don't really care if you can acquire a gun illegally. The point is that most Canadians have chosen not to do so and in contrast to the US the number of gun owners continues to decline every year.
Look at the graph I provided. Gun violence is fairly flat or going down, and acquisition is going up.And just to emphisize a point I have challenged every gun lover to refute - more guns equals more gun deaths almost without exception.
Right, most Canadians have intimate contact with local gangs.
Attitudes make a difference.
I wouldn't be surprised and yep.I'm a mere housewife, born in a small community, raised on a farm. No gang affiliation, I don't participate in criminal activity. But if I needed, at any given moment I could make some calls and have anything I needed within a day, if not sooner. And if I wasn't capable of handling a gun, etc., it probably wouldn't take me longer than a week to line up someone willing to help me out that way either. I find it hard to believe that anyone can grow up, live, and socialize in Canadian communities and NOT know people who could find them what they need. Not without blinders on anyway.
Like being swamped continually through your media, with the notion that your neighbours are your enemy if they don't think exactly like you.
Time to ban drugs, alcohol, and cars.
A ban on cars would limit auto deaths to infinitesimal level.
You need vehicles. You don't need guns.Time to ban drugs, alcohol, and cars.

Bulshyte....you got two legs...you don't need a vehicle...
hmmmm, interesting, my son in law, just one example in my family, travels each day from ucluelet to tofino
to work, wonder what time he would have to leave to jog there. I guess he could
buy a plane and fly there, kind of out of their price range, and ucluelet
doesn't have an airport, the bus doesn't have much of a schedule, that doesn't
work.
I know there can be examples where people use vehicles needlessly, but really !!!!!!!
You need vehicles. You don't need guns.
People are addicted to drugs and alcohol. I can't imagine too many will be scrounging through the streets for guns to feed their habit.

There are exception to everything... For everyone that needs a car to commute, how many don't....hmmmm, interesting, my son in law, just one example in my family, travels each day from ucluelet to tofino

Time to get a job closer I would say. People are dying on the roads due to auto accidents. We must ban autos.
