There are no scandals, corruption and the Canadian economy was doing just fine prior to the election. Despite what the media party would have you believe.
Sometimes it's nice to try to "soften" the message a little.

I think Harper and Klein actually helped more people than they harmed. I know Klein in particular was for the working man!
I could care less what happens to him. He filed claims. He was caught. He paid the money back. The only outstanding issue is whether he was criminally at fault. I don't care how this plays out.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, if the Trudeau PMO arranges to pay back the $49.5million of former liberals, he will win my vote in future elections. I am not worried about this ever happening.
Why should Justin pay back the $49 million? Should I pay back a debt my grandfather may have left unpaid?
When you buy the assets of a business, you don't buy its debts. But when you assume the leadership role in an old business you assume its debts.
The last I checked, the liberal party went under major changes but it didn't dismantle and sell off its assets to a new owner.
There are not many examples where I would say yes, but if you were running a family farm that was bought with borrowed money that was never paid off, then YES.

He said he was begging Harper's top aide Ray Novak that he not be forced to admit a mistake and repay the expenses, just five minutes before he eventually went public.
"I'm not a cheat, I'm not a thief. I don't break the rules and I was not going to embrace this kind of process," he said.
"I was pleading with all these born-again Christians."
Duffy said he had a conversation with Harper and told him that he was being lynched and railroaded. He said he told Harper it was unfair that members of the PMO were forcing him to admit he made a mistake by claiming housing allowances for his Ottawa residence and that he would repay the amount.
The P.E.I. senator said he also complained that the PMO said he didn't spend enough time in his province.
Duffy testified that Harper said, "Well, you only spend 66 days" there.
Duffy testified that he said that that was "a lie," that he spent more time in the province, and that he was also on the "rubber chicken circuit" on behalf of the prime minister.
Duffy said Harper just "looked at me with a blank look."

I believe we are being treated to a show trial in lieu of real reform. Most posters here, me included, seem content to enjoy the circus while that recession eats them alive buttered pop-corn I-phone and rubber boots entire. I think we have become entrenched and enthralled in the foggy reflection of the way things were and have no time for the way things are. As the 33 ton lizard slithers in for the lethal toxic strike we are messmerized by its gyrating head. Tough on crime! My ***! If there's anything I've learned in the last decade or so it's that crime is a respected profession. Anyway while we worry about the unfolding global war we ignore the economic reasons for the conflict or while we worry abot the economic crisis we ignore the war. It would be best to ignore both and hide in a cave.
