I smoke weed, that is my decision. If you did not know that about me and we met on the street one day you I am sure we would get along just fine. I simply don't understand why you look down on me for such a reason.

Is it because you have simply painted me as a stereotypical stoner?

I assure you I am a functioning member of society. Full time job, living on my own, pay my taxes, blahblahblah. I would really like to know.

anyone who indulges in pot, or booze in a small way, just

as I have my coffee once a day, isn't any harm to anyone,

it's the boozers, the stinky smokers, and the obvious

druggies who are the useless, stinky boring ones.

It is a good medicinal herb as well as a good stone, If you are into that. I quite a long time ago because I reached a plateau and now I don't enjoy smoking it but I do drink it in tea occasionally as a pain killer and muscle relaxant or when I have a cold. It should be legalized so people can grow their own and cut out the criminal element. It is a beautiful and fascinating plant that most gardeners would enjoy growing.

In my area, even the non-gardeners enjoy growing it...

I don't think anyone thinks you're evil or condemning you- you are just better off without it, unless there is medicinal ramifications.

Of course you are better off if you stay away from drugs, cigarettes, booze, caffeine, casual sex, cars, fatty foods, ATVs, violent movies, guns, snowmobiles, sharp objects, etc etc etc.....but wouldn't life be dull????

no.
I can have sex anytime I want it, and I own a car, one
cup of coffee a day at lunch, a little bit of fatty food is good for you, I watch violent movies sometimes, not interested in the
rest, with exception of kitchen utensils, and my life is
far from dull.
People who take drugs, smoke and are boozers, always seem to
think of someone like me as 'dull', and I think of them
as 'dull', stinky and very boring.

I hear you Talloola, I'm a very occasional drinker (read once or twice a year) after 25 years of drinking enough for myself and every neighbour within 3 blocks. What I really find annoying is when asked if I'd care for a drink and I say no thank you they keep asking you if you are sure. You begin to wonder who would benefit from the drink, you or them. At one family function I was asked by teh same guy about 50 times if I wanted a drink. Brain dead or what???????????

Just as dangerous as alcohol, maybe more so. Marijuana use is much more dangerous that believed and hundreds of young people die each year in "accidents" caused by their prolonged use of the drug, according to Britain's most senior coroner. Hamish Turner, the president of the Coroners' Society, told The Telegraph that the marijuana, often portrayed as harmless, has increasingly been the cause of deaths that have been reported as accidents or suicides.

"Cannabis is as dangerous as any other drug and people must understand that it kills," said Mr Turner. "From my long experience I can say that it is a very dangerous substance. Increasingly it is mentioned not only as the first drug taken by people who overdose, but also in suicides and accidental deaths.

Marijuana Causes Many Deaths Reported as 'Accidents'

Bottom line is why does anyone need these to make them feel good?

Sorry, but that is pure BS propaganda. The scientific evidence does not support this clowns assertions. Number one, the first drug anybody takes in the world is sugar. It alone is the gateway drug that hooks those who are prone to addiction. Only about 20% of people are prone to addiction. They go on to be alcoholics, cigarette smokers, coffee drinkers and a few advance to crack, cocaine, heroine and speed.

Sugar is our first experience with altered consciousness. We spend billions to get our kids addicted. We put it in just about everything we eat and drink. It rots out teeth and causes all sorts of debilitating disease (diabetes). But we would rather point our finger at a harmless herb and get all bent out of shape while our governments and industries wreak havoc among the population. And The US government is the world leader in hysterical reactions to anything pot.

I suppose you never drink or smoke, never do antihistamines or other pharmaceutical drugs to make yourself feel better. Yup, pure as the driven snow, I'm sure.

What research, verified by what medical/scientific body? I'm not totally against pot usage but there has been very little research documented even by Europeans, who are much more liberal on the drug.

Wrong. Sugar is not a drug but one of the compounds utilized by living organisms to recover/utilize energy. It has nothing to do with the other substances you listed.

From my personal experiences, I don't care for marijuana. The buzz was ok but the 3 day brain dead period after was something I found detrimental, especially in college. And beer always tasted better to me.

I'm not against decriminalization but I am firm believer that much more research needs to be done before it is legalized, that also includes coming with ways to determine and control the potency before it can be marketed, just as brewers/distillers have to with alcohol.

Yep.

Some people have no respect for your ability (or right) to choose..........I never did understand it.
