That would be equal to declaring an emergency, airport are trained to allow for that perhaps coming from Russia used enough fuel that they didn't have enough to be in a holding pattern for 3 hours. Why were flights diverted to Florida when Cuba could be used as a holding area plus refueling. That would include transfer to smaller aircraft.

Like I said,no ones making a big deal out of it,they just explained why there was delays and that the russians lied, most peeps are more focused on getting help in and not useing the tragedy as a reason to slam the US

Most anyways.

How do you KNOW they didn't have a cockpit warning? Why do you assume the Russian pilot lied?

You did, the delays were the fault of the Chinese and the Russians, that was the whole message of your post. If the 'aid' is piling up at the airport why is it not moving out and into the location where it is needed? Just dump it in a pile and let the locals deal with who gets what, just keep delivering until the airport is empty. Distribution was also claimed by the US military so blame cannot be passed onto civilian operations.
BTW how many days have to pass before looting is called scavenging, one can get you shot the other might save your life.

Who cares if they did or not?
Some of us are more focused on the positive side of things.
CBC would still have the clip, which one should I look at, there are many. What is hateful about suggesting Cuba be used as a holding area for aid that cannot be immediately delivered. Boat delivery would be quite easy from Cuba and/or the Dominican.

My criticism is not based on it being the US, it is about their efficiency. Tankers are stationed where for refueling aircraft? Hopefully at least one is on the ground at any one time. Flights containing equipment to move the aid off the airport is as important as getting aid there in the first place. If any of that is brought up it is called anti american spam.

Yeah I saw the article. Did you see the one that says a cruise ship dicked 'just around the corner' on their own private peninsula? I would think if you can get that size a ship close enough that the passengers can relax on a beach it could also be used to unload sea cargo, heavy cargo to be exact.

Check how much water a cruise ship need and how much a cargo ship would require - You are off the mark on that one - Not many cargo ships have drive on - drive off capability - Choppers and heavy equipment - armed soldiers to protect to convoys etc - Once the main road are opened the aid will flow - Then you have the gangs that the UN had a hell of a time rounding up -

Are you saying that heavy container ships displace more water than cruise ships? Say it isn't so.

That is what I understand - But I have been wrong before -

I was being a little sarcastic with you as you brought up a good point. The water displacement of a cruise ship is smaller than that of a loaded cargo ship.

She has a draught of 29ft, there are a lot of cargo ships that are under that measurement.

Until a cannon is loaded, that is what gun-boat diplomacy is all about.
I hope the US doesn't say they can't use the port because it would make too many tracks in the sand for the tourists.

I'd figure a cruise ship would come in far more handier than a vessel full of raw goods.

A cruise ship has desalination, sewage treatment capabilities electrical production, laundry, mass cooking facilities, administrative, cell phone comm. internet, and a well stocked medical facility.

All intended for the people on board, where would they go?

Great, put the tourists on the lifeboats and point the way to Cuba and then turn the ship over to the roving gangs, once they are whooping it up the streets will be safe again. How many zip-lines on a boat that big before it gets pulled over onto it's side?
