BS. Educate yourself.Justify your reply. I doubt you can seeing as the US has the highest gun death rate of any modern democracy.

"Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig."I think you're wasting your time. It's like arguing with a pig. It's doubtful he'd accept any evidence.

We do down here. Heck, I did just that last Tuesday.Your logic is flawed. People don't just wake up and say "this country's laws are screwed up, so I'm going to go murder someone with my gun"

No, that is why people die in the USA. Because it has stupid laws that encourage gun ownership.
Ridiculous

I defy you to find that comment in my post. .
Why are so many shots fired and gunshot injuries in the lower mainland of B.C. then ? Of course they are mostly immigrant gangs killing each other and probably don't deserve coverage in the rest of Canada . They are only immigrants after all . Right BS ?Educate myself as to what? I did specify modern democracy. Listing disfunctional dictatorships and semi-dictatorships does not in any way refute my comment.
I defy you to find that comment in my post. The US has a horrendous murder rate. Only developing nations and those involved in actual war have a worse rate. What you have to ask yourself is why is Canada's murder rate so much lower when the countries share a border? Canadians are not any more peaceful than Americans. We simply don't have as many guns or such easy access to them.

emotional comment, response, asked, answered, challenged, here it is.
Happy?
No point. Simple fact is its way, WAAAY more factors than guns. But the anti-gun nuts will never acknowledge that.Canada has always had better rates. Even before they passed laws.

So because us lowermainlanders kill less then our counterparts in American inner cities it is all a ok .BC - you mean the Canadian province with a lower murder rate than almost every US state? Just for your info only four US states have a lower murder rate than BC and they are all fairly rural. If fact the Vancouver area had a lower rate than every US city of similar size and even beat many US cities with lower populations for total murders.
I'd be really happy if you could make a coherent reply. I note you did not make any attempt to refute my point, which is that the US has a much higher murder rate than Canada. I'm not really surprised.

None of the anti- gun members will answer that...............This.
Back in the 70s, Canada had very few gun laws, in fact our laws were considerably lighter than a number of US states.
The murder rate in the USA was 3 x our rate..
Step forward 45 years, Canada has incredibly tough gun laws, in general much tighter than the USA, the USA has eliminated vast amounts of gun regulation, allowing civilian carry of handguns almost everywhere.
The murder rate in the USA is 3 x that in Canada.
Gun laws are irrelevant.
You know the sub-national entity with the worst murder rate in the USA/Canada?
Canada's NorthWest Territories, with a murder rate of 11.3 per 100,000.
Homicide offences, number and rate, by province and territory (Homicide rate)
Mississippi has the highest US rate, at 8.7 per 100,000

Ooops.
Utter nonsense, Colpy, and you know it. Every country where gun ownership has increased has experienced higher rates of gun deaths. You do realize that in the US the highest rates of gun violence are in states with very high gun ownership? The restrictions on firearms in Canada were enacted just as firearms sales in Canada began to take off, following the US model. I suspect that if it had not been stopped Canada would be facing the same carnage as the USA.This.

No. You keep searching for a bumper-sticker answer. There ain't one.You mean, like, whether you live in a crumbling, decaying culture or not?
OK, Bar Sinister, I'll put the case to you directly. You've got it backwards. It is the gun nuts who will not admit that more guns equals more gun deaths.
I agree, and it's a point I've made before.300 million guns and 33k deaths by gun = .00011%
if it was really the 300 million guns that were the problem, dont you think this would be a MUCH bigger problem?
