Northern Ontario,
Organic is a scam. The salts and minerals to grow a plant are identical no matter the source.
Why is it when I hear the word organic in fertilizer this is the picture that comes to mind?

I doubt if ANY food is actually GOOD for the environment, it all takes nourishment out of the soil, either directly or indirectly.

So which part of the soil>plant>animal>death>decomposition>soil cycle is NOT the environment?

None! But that has nothing to do with my post. :)

It does for me. It suggested that food could be bad for 'the environment' by taking nourishment out of the soil; whereas food is really a component of the environment and the nourishment ends up back in the soil, air or water as part of a natural cycle.

Sorry, it's just my nit-picky habit around words (plus I make compost, and use it growing veggies :)).

Why? Will you do gene therapy when you get cancer or just accept it and kick the bucket?
Neither. I plan to stay healthy and avoid getting cancer at least until I am too old to care. I know that my wife will die before she would let the medical system fill her full of poison. Since she believes in reincarnation she doesn't care too much about losing this vessel although she does try to look after it.

Yeah, I see reincarnation as one possibility although I still need a little convincing. (There was one story out of England where a small child died leaving a doll, which the parents put away more or less forgetting about it. A few years later they had another daughter and one day while she was snooping around she came across the doll, addressing it by the name the other child had called it. Neither of the parents had ever mentioned the doll to the child.) Can someone explain that one?

You are fooling yourself if you think you can avoid cancer. Mitigate somewhat but avoid, uh-uh, that's not gonna happen.

Food isnt going to up or lower your chances.

It might be mostly to do with your genes. Lifestyle can play a small role as more or less proven by guys who spent 40 years in an asbestos mine.
