Problem is, when you say Canadians, you mean a few Canadians and Harper's neoconservomatons. With the government in contempt of parliament for withholding information about these fighter jets they say we need, the scandals they promised to rid Ottawa of for good and this new war they are trying to insert us into while the country wants to bring our troops home, has people howling for an election.
Harper could have prevented an election by working with the other parties or even just the NDP to get the budget passed, but they choose not to. They could make some adjustments, but they choose not to. While they feel that those who can afford $2000 a year to put their kids in to hockey, ballet and paint by number art courses need to have a break on their taxes, those who do need some help get nothing.
Not like the price of food and gas hasn't gone up. No money for that, but instead, $30,000,000,000 for fighter jets.
I bet that kind of money could go a long way in helping hospitals cut emergency waiting times, extend services that patient families are left to take care of at home and get small business back in business.
There is quite a difference between government working for the public in cooperation with the other elected parties and this self appointed king of Canada.
