Without balance, exclusivity in any one area is not representative of reality.
But in the end, Fluke is not lobbying for medication to address ovarian cancer - she is lobbying for contraception. The notion that the pill can have a positive influence on ovarian cancer is incidental... But then again, if you take the time to read through the link gerryh provided, you'd see that use of the pill also comes with a health cost of it's own.

Well, I've said from the beginning that this is a discussion for a woman and her doctor. She is testifying in support of a mandate in a bill...the benefit to women in reduced risks for many illnesses is not incidental at all, it's part of the reason why the report from the National Academy suggested this should be part of the healthcare reform, because it is an actual prophylactic treatment.
You have also specifically ignored that Fluke has been lobbying for the inclusion of contraceptives (in general - you getting this yet?) from the inception of this issue.
Selectively ignoring the corner stone issue doesn't make it go away

Based on that highly generalized description, I suppose that preventative chemo therapy or hysterectomies would easily qualify as a solution - how come you and Fluke aren't demanding a wholesale program based on those extreme solutions? Is Fluke really all about women's health or not?
But, again, that is an aside. Afterall, Fluke did recognize that 'contraception' for the purpose of medical reasons WAS covered by Georgetown's student insurance.

Since I have great mental & physical health, and there are soooo many new products developed I have no need of, why would I even care to know of them??
