So, instead of explaining to her that she had misinterpreted what she was being told, you instead chose to call the Church a liar and turn her away from it.

the church should have explained what they meant in a way
that would not confuse her, or make her think that they
meant it literally, they chose to let her walk away thinking that god was her real parent, not unlike any
company peddling their wares, and advertising in a way
that will make you think they are the best and only way
to go.

She learned just how the church operates, the good and
the bad as she grew up, and developed a very balanced and
healthy attitude, and understands how life is, and kept an
open mind, and was encouraged to learn about religion, and
make up her own mind in regard to 'what' she thinks about that
part of life, and she did that.

The church is just another corporate money grabber, who
wants to take your money and run.

In defence of the church as a place to gather people, I
like what the 'people' of the church do, as they do help
others and gather together to comfort and make others
feel wanted, at least the 'real' people of the church do
that, unlike the leaders of the church and the hypocrites
who also gather there to let others think they are 'good',
when they are actually looking for brownie points.

Two of the most evil, crookedist business people that I know are both elders of their respective churches.

we sent our kids to sunday school when they were small,
as we were still influenced by the 'in laws', italian,
catholics, and thought we were doing the right thing.

Just took a few short years, till we smartened up, and
stepped back, let life be life, and told the kids they
could learn and make their own decisions about religion
when they grew up, and that was that, one of the best
moves we have made.

It's pretty easy to sit back and tell everyone else they are idiots, they are useless, etc. but no-one can take you seriously because you haven't a clue what those others lives are like. Whatever you see in others that you don't like is just a reflection of something you don't like in your own life.
IMO, no parent is useless if they've raised good kids.

Anyway, I think what people call "soul" is just the bundle of emotions and thoughts that makes up a person's character and there's no good reason to think it carries on after our bodies quit; just wishful thinking.

such a useless statement you just made
Did you expect any better?...... Only he is right , so much so he doesn't have to give you reasons why. You wouldn't understand it. For someone that is against killing and wars there's alot of anger in his words.
