Two tear justice, expecting preferential treatment, throws a temper tantrum, makes an ass of him self, and at the end damage control by John Beard "Mr speaker he was not asking for preferential treatment" when in fact the moron was looking for preferential treatment. How can one like these idiots, they brake the law and immediately after the are looking for vindication. :angryfire::angryfire::angryfire:

I'm wondering if (to make the mods' lives easier) if it would be permissible to establish a sort of "no holds barred" thread where people could let it all hang out, insult each other, swear, curse, and carry on...and just keep it going? That way, anyone in a foul mood could go there and vent.

I don't know if that's a "kosher" idea or if it would help the cause. Like many things, it "looks good on paper"...

We had such a thing before, called 'The Steel Cage'. It caused plenty of problems, they had to shut it down. Believe me, it is not a good idea. The bitterness, ill feeling generated inside the Steel Cage spills over outside and poisons the whole forum.

These days once in a while a thread may go ballistic. When we had the Steel Cage, at times the whole forum went ballistic, it must have been a nightmare for the mods.

We used to have what was called the steel cage where you could do all that and from my viewpoint, it was excellent, but I guess there were some people who disapproved (which is fine by me- just stay away from there) but no, out of nosiness they had to peek in once in awhile and then sh*t hit the fan. Reminds me of the old prude who rented a motel room, where in the wing opposite, a guy would parade back and forth in front of the window in the "all together" When she complained the manager checked it out and found that although the man could be seen from that room, nothing below the waist was in view. So he thought anyway until she had him stand up on the bed.

"Guys lets talk about Liberals and Cons, enough with steel cage."

There is nothing there that requires deep discussion, they are both tarred with the same brush, neither one is preferable to the other. Harper's "bacon" is saved for the time being mainly because he has no capable opponent and he seems to be acting somewhat responsible fiscally, by reducing personal income tax and giving lip service to employment through infra structure projects and incentives to do home renos. We don't give a hoot what his moral beliefs are. So I guess you could say for this week I'm Conservative but be prepared for a change by Monday.

Not to swell your head JLM, but the ability to look at the situation and change with the prevailing conditions is a sure sign of an intelligent and confident person.

I try, but this damn Liberal phobia of mine is a hard condition to shake! I will endeavour to follow your comments and suggestions, as I think I (and a few others) can benefit from this fine example of objectivity in our political discussions.

Northern Ontario,
We can get rid of things that cause problems?????? Do tell....

If we were to view Steel Cage like Parliament (good analogy, huh?) we'd be right on topic - diametrically opposed views in a place where people call each other names.

You would never get Sir Write-a-lot in the steel cage
The hot air would be too much for anyone to take:lol:
BTW LW....any comment on my sig??;-)

OK, I'll stand by.

By the way, still on the topic of Liberal phobia, I just remembered that many long years ago in Winnipeg - I was a lead guitarist with a few different bands - I was playing at a Liberal fund raising gig one night in the Fort Garry hotel. At a pre-determined break in the music, who should enter the ballroom but ol' Pierre Elliot Trudeau hisself. He came up on the stage, shook each band member's hand, and made a quick speech to the audience.

Now I'm not sure if that's when I caught Liberal phobia because I don't know if it's spread by physical contact, but it's one possibility.

The only clear memory I have of that evening was discovering that P.E.T. was a short little bugger. I'm only 6' 1" but I remember towering over him when I shook his hand. I was polite and respectful of course, having been raised in a very conservative and god-fearin' family.

In technical jargon, that is called conservatism (also some call it hypocrisy, the two are synonymous).
