Not true at all. There has never ever been a clinical observation that the ingestion of pot has ever killed anyone. Not even one! Neither is it physically addictive. So if you feel you know something about this please feel free to site some empirical evidence to support your suggestions.
Maybe not physically, but pot kills you mentally and spiritually. And if you legalize that stuff, then teens will get addicted to it, and then try out another type of drug to experiment with effects.

I'm still alive - both spiritually and mentally - and it's been about 35 years since I huffed my first and I've been toking - on and off as I choose - ever since. What makes you think teens are more likely to use it if it's controlled like booze? Half the fun is getting away with something. Which addictive do you mean? It can be psychologically addictive - jut like cigarettes or the internet or sex - but you don't become dependent on it to live like you do doctor prescribed junk or alcohol. Kids are going to try other stuff whether weed is legal or not.

I say decriminalize it all and put organized crime and pushers out of business. You'll see crime rates drop and a lot less tax money being wasted in chasing doen dopers and making criminals out of otherwise laws-abiding people.

It's psychologically addictive, and it should never be legalized. That's all I'm gonna say.

Your opinion.... Mine is experienced ... and differs.

An addiction to power is also psychological....

Right on Wolfy, Psychologically Addictive is a red herring, there's really no such thing. Definition of Psychologically Addictive - I enjoyed that and I'd like to do it again.

What a crock. Legalize it. We're spending untold millions and putting people in jail for possessing a plant. It's insane.

K, well I've got a good arguement. I dunno if anyone remembers, but a few months back they shut down the short-lived Safe Injection Sites in Vancouver. It was a place where druggies could go to get high without doing it on the streets. The UN ended up shutting it down, and if they legalize narcotics, it won't look good for Canada, and there will be druggies coming from our neighbours down south.

That safe injection site is still running. In fact they are now also handing out rubber tips for crack pipes, so that crackheads don't burn their lips. Hard drugs suck.:angry3:

If most people smoked pot, wouldn't most people, not 'really' feel like doing much of
anything, most of the time.
From all the posts I have read from time to time here, that is the conclusion I have reached. Lazy, mellow, non motivated people are not very useful in society. Our natural tendency
is to be energetic and motivated to work hard and progress in life, it seems that 'pot' takes that tendency away.
If it helps people who are ill, then it should be prescribed by a doctor just like any other drug that we have to buy as a prescription.
With the prices of everything getting so steep. How can anyone make pot, liquor, or cigarettes a priority when they
are deciding how to divide up their paychecks and pay for everything for the month.
I smoked a long time ago, and I would'nt pay that money today for cigarettes, there is so many important things to buy
that are much more necessary, than cigs, booze, and dope.

Alcohol causes more problems

And if it were legal, the underground would not be putting the additives in. The reason why it's illegal, is because it would render many of the enterprises the could be replaced by hemp unnessesary, & there wouldn't be a lot of stupid jobs so you can work for the government 4 months out of the year in taxes. - Furthermore, it has been proven to help form braincells, & increase intelligence. - It also makes you question a lot of things... Including the government, & they can't have that!

Yes, it should most definitely be legalized.

I feel that marijuana helps me to see if something is truly good or evil. I think there are many things that are embedded in our society that many people believe are good but are actually evil and are harming our world. Many people are convinced that some of these evils are warranted as punishment or the lessor of two evils. If evil generates evil then we are just making things worse. Some evils are cloaked like a wolf in sheep's clothing and are very difficult to see.

I seen someone say in this thread earlier that those who use marijuana are less likely to believe in God. Maybe its because some of the actions of God seem to be evil and not good.

I notice some people believe that marijuana plays apart of in the violence that criminals and gangs do. Considering that marijuana mellows people out, makes them more lazy, etc. Seems to me that these people would be worse and commit more crimes if they didn't use marijuana. Maybe they would commit even less crimes if marijuana was made more easily available.

Here are the reasons I think they don't want to legalize marijuana:

- Marijuana has healing properties, big drug companies certainly don't want this competition.
- Alcohol companies believe it will cut into their profits.
- The religious sector doesn't want to lose their followers.
- The business sector figures people who use marijuana become lazy and are not as productive.
- The oil companies are against it, if marijuana is a comparable fuel source to sugar cane as I have heard. My father said he heard it burns hotter then oil even.
- I believe there are those who realize marijuana helps people see when something is wrong. By labeling them as criminals, much of their creditability is lost.
- Many businesses don't want marijuana to be legalizes because it would bring more durable products to the market and infringe on their profits.

Here are reasons I believe it should be legalized:

- It would take a big bite out of crime.
- Make it available to those who need it for medical reasons.
- I think its 100 times better and safer then alcohol for our society to use for recreation.
- I honestly believe it would help people understand what is right and wrong better creating a more kinder, calmer, mellower, gentler, wiser and peaceful world.
- It would give us a great fuel source.
- It would bring lots of jobs to our country.
- It would stop making criminals out of good people.
- I believe with its healing abilities if we put it in our food and eat it, we would extend our life.
- It would give a big boost to our tourism industry.

A vote for green is a vote for decriminalization.
A vote for conservatives is a vote for criminalization.
