We know that you think Islam is evil.

You hardly have to repeat it.

What I find amusing are the ways some people justify condemning female genital mutilation, while contorting themselves to defend male circumcision.

It's either ok for parents to mutilate babies' genitals based on a religious tradition, or it's not.

As I said below, and for all those reasons, they are NOT the same thing.
Circumcision has been done to males in the west for decades without any reference to "religious tradition". I am not sure why.

I would not have a male child circumcized.

Later:

So i looked it up......yes there are several health reasons to have male children circumcized.

From cancer prevention, to lessening AIDS risk, to less chance of transfering other viruses to the woman......check it out.

http://www.circinfo.com/benefits/bmc.html

There is NO benefit to female genital mutilation..........that is what makes it mutilation.

I think Islam is evil.

I do not think all Muslims are evil, just deluded.

I belong to no cult.

You think all Muslims are deluded and that Islam is evil. That is easily seen as pure religious hate and nothing but. You clearly belong to the cult of hate for Islam. Part of your delusion is that you can't or won't examine your own words objectively because of the cult brainwashing.

Male genital mutilation is okay because we've done it for a long time.

Sure, there are health reasons to do it - there are health reasons to remove a woman's breasts, too. That's a separate issue. Surgery for health reasons is different. Surgery to help people too lazy to keep themselves clean, that's hardly justification.

Face it, you're okay with male genital mutilation because it's been done for years. That's what you just posted.

The ability of the left to wear blinders simply amazes me.

Has nothing to do with Islam??? Ha!!!! It may (rarely) occur outside Islam, but Islam has adopted the practice whole-heartedly.

So, what is the prevalence here in Canada, amongst the Canadian followers of Islam?

That is NOT what I posted, don't twist my words....

There is no reason to remove a woman's breasts unless they are prone to breast cancer....and that is NOT what we are talking about.

We are talking about the mutilation of female genitals for NO reason at all except control of their sexuality.

I thought for a moment that you might have a point about male circumcision, which is why I looked up the medical benefits of modern circumcision........and it turns out you have no point at all......it is done on the choice of the parent and the advice of an MD as a preventative measure.......

There is NO benefit to female mutilation. Just the opposite.

Is that clear??????

So, what is the prevalence here in Canada, amongst the Canadian followers of Islam?

Excellent question, difficult to answer........not often, I would think....I go look.

So then, Islam hasn`t adopted the practice whole-heartedly...is that because of local government, or local Imams, or maybe something else altogether...I wonder.

So, you're suggesting that the only reason boys are circumsized is for MEDICAL reasons?

I am suggesting that many male children in Canada undergo the procedure for medical reasons........and many for religious reasons, Muslim or Jew.

Find me a FGM done for medical reasons...

I can not find a reference to FGM being preformed in Canada....as an illegal act here, it would be all underground.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali claims many American children undergo FGM in the USA, and many more are sent to Africa for the operation.....

Is genital mutilation for religious reasons acceptable, or not?

Is genital mutilation for religious reasons acceptable, or not?

Let me spell it out for you.

Male circumcision, because it has medical benefit and is often performed for medical reasons aside from the religious, is acceptable.

Female circumcision is only useful as a tool of control, it has numerous medical complications, it is therefore mutilation , and is not acceptable.

Northern Ontario,
Ah......circumcision is slightly different.......in the west, usually done for reasons of improved health. I know a guy that had to undergo circumcision as an adult, because of attachments and infections. I never heard of anyone that had to have their clitoris cut off, and their vagina sewn almost shut, or their lips cut down so the vagina would literally heal over, for health reasons....very much the opposite. AND circumcision does not destroy sexual pleasure....control being the entire purpose of female genital mutilation....and the fact of lessened sexual pleasure and pain during sex forever is what makes it mutilation, not "cutting". BTW, FGM is done to CHILDREN....no, they do NOT have a choice in the matter... (insert extremely rolled eyes here)

As I said originally, yes, some others do FGM..........but Islam has adopted the practice whole-heartedly.

Islam means submission, there is only ONE interpretation of Islam possible...."moderate" Islamics are simply not Islamic at all, and are often pulled over to radical Islam.....read Ayaan Hirsi Ali, fer God's sake, pull your head out of the sand.

Islam, as submission, is simply not compatible with democracy.

It is a cult of hatred.

And what part of my "anti-Muslim propaganda" is not true?

One sixth of the world's population.......creating the majority of the world's misery................

I agree with most of your post Colpy..........except one part....actualy....one word.....sand needs to be replaced.

Okay. So genital mutilation for religious reasons is okay, because it is sometimes done for medical reasons.

LOL!

My we are being obstinate today, aren't we?

Your dead horse wear out, or what?

Male circumcision, because it is carried out as a preventative measure on doctor's advice, without reference to religious factors, is NOT mutlilation.

FGM is carried out to destroy for life a woman's sexual pleasure, it has severe repercussions of infection and in child birth, it has absolutely no medical benefit, it is much more extensive than that performed on the male...........

In other words, the rationale for the procedure, the life-long negative medical effects both make this mutilation....is is never in any way an acceptable medical procedure....it is ONLY mutilation.

Can I make it any simpler than that??????

Yes, you could make it simpler. But you won't.

Genital mutilation, unless done specifically for medical reasons, should only be done at the request of the patient. ie, not to children. Male or female.

That would make it simpler.
