It would have been great if the hostages could have turned on the kidnappers.

Did you raise an eyebrow?

I did have a discussion on another forum but failed to bring it up here previously. On reflection, I should have brought it up earlier. But you likely recall that I have condemned in the past the use of children in the military (possibly in the old "Next Islamophobic Hate thread" where a kid was shown with a rocket launcher in an obvious fake photo). Children have no place in war whether as soldiers or victims. But it is not the business of the USA to intervene militarily in foreign affairs when this crime is committed.

I've always admired Ayaan Hirsi Ali.......she is very courageous. Unfortunately, too few people will listen to what she's been saying and no action will be taken. Corrupt governments are either part of the problem (likely) or too scared to do anything (re: Nigeria).

What is required is people to stand up against the Islamists with the very resolve that they have - fight fire with fire. That won't happen because we've become too soft. These guys are extremists; brain-washed into believing that what they are doing is in the name of their god. No amount of "good will" or love or anything else will change that. We need to understand that fully. Alas, Political Correctness won't allow for us to use the force that would be necessary to eliminate the evil threats these guys pose and it will bite us in the a$$ in the end.

I sincerely hope that I'm not around when that happens.

Irina Shayk criticized for topless ‘Bring Back Our Girls’ photo

Supermodel Irina Shayk has sparked outrage by posting a topless picture of herself as part of a social media campaign calling for the return of the Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped by Islamist militants.
Public figures including U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, Anne Hathaway and Angelina Jolie have all spoken out about the hundreds of teenagers snatched from a school in northern Nigeria last month by members of the Boko Haram extremist group.
They have backed a Twitter campaign called #BringBackOurGirls, which encourages supporters to post a photo with a sign emblazoned with the hashtag, and Shayk uploaded her own snap on Instagram earlier this week.
However, her involvement has prompted criticism as she appears to be topless in the photo, with her '#BringBackOurGirls' sign covering her breasts.
Many followers took to Twitter.com to share their disapproval of the post, with users branding the image "callous" and "self-centred", but Shayk is refusing to take notice.
She subsequently uploaded a photo featuring the saying: "A tiger doesn't lose sleep over the opinion of sheep."
