You don't actually expect a Trudeamaniac to see beyond the surface do you?
I am trying to make him understand that Obama's Keystone decision did not and never was about shutting down the oil sands . It was about picking winners and losers .

100 million gallons of Alberta oil was sent to America in the month of September .
Obama supporter Warren Buffet owns the railroad that carries that oil . He has ordered 30,000 new tank cars to increase rail capacity , because America does not need dirty Canadian oil .

There is the American interests Obama was talking about.

???

I assume you do all your transportation by bicycle (ignoring the fact that it took lots of oil to make your bicycle and get it to you)?
come on is this the best defense you have?are you sure you are from Toronto? If i had a penny for everytime i hear silly responses to serious issues,i would be a millionaire.
like most people,i want oil and gas industries and everything which spins off of these industries to be thriving and of modern world appeal, but unfortunately there is a process to such privledges, unfortunately on multiple levels history states these privledges were violated and manipulated,
as being the "embarrassing cousin",I know our acknowledgement of a terrible history,is the true beginning for advancements on a world stage,
bicycles have nothing to do with my world of how i view oil and gas activity different,my truth and belief is until the sad history of regulatory manipulation within oil and gas is acknowledged and affirmed,in my little mind and only in my mind,we will remain the embarrassing cousin and opportunites will be minimized.
I view oil and gas from what i know, and for your information,I hold some pretty ugly knowledge, terrible knowledge,i know a little more then you,my experiences and knowledge is different.

this is for you Walter, certainly a thumbs up?

Poor tar sands.

Bill McKibben is amused to hear pro-pipeline politicians in Canada deride opponents like him as foreign radicals. McKibben quipped in an interview: "I had exactly the same upbringing as Stephen Harper."

The Vermont environmentalist spent his elementary-school years in Toronto, during his father's posting as a business journalist. He never got to know the future prime minister, who was a year ahead at Northlea Elementary.

This is the story of how they became rivals.

Like many others in the environmental movement in 2011, McKibben was dejected at the collapse of a cap-and-trade bill in the U.S. Congress and disillusioned with President Barack Obama for failing to make it a priority while his party still had control of Congress.
A eureka moment occurred that June.

It was triggered by a journal article from climatologist and former NASA scientist James Hansen, titled "Silence is Deadly." It sounded the alarm on a pipeline that would carry nearly one-quarter of Canada's oil.

"If this project gains approval, it will become exceedingly difficult to control the tar sands monster," Hansen warned.
