Does it matter?
It will, ‘if’ let’s say Trump through his second and third terms (?) can bring Venezuela online to export its crude almost exclusively to the US Gulf Coast, replacing a 1/4 to 1/3 of Canadian exports to the U.S., if Canada doesn’t have significant access to other baskets markets like China or India or other points East of B.C.? What will happen to the WCS price in this scenario?

Trump and you will be dead long before Venezuela production becomes a threat.

Venezuela’s current production I’m assuming it’s about 1 million barrels a day, right now, but it’s spread out to several different nations in export (biggest going to China, next biggest portion being America). What if all production now goes to America? That can happen in a fairly short amount of time without having to double or triple production, etc…

Expanded production can be a decade or two, but diverted production…can be what? A year or two, more or less?

Think of your own household budget. Gross income minus expenses = what you have to play with and make life interesting. Then take 25% off the top of that. Does that change your lifestyle?

If it all goes to US it frees up a fuck tonne of rail tankers to haul to our coasts.

What are you on about Trumps second or third term . Have you looked at the man lately ? He is no longer the picture of health . I will be surprised if he lasts through his full term .

Towards the end of his last term, Biden was a finger puppet and yet he stayed in office until that debate lasted longer than his Adderall dosage. Reagan for his last term couldn’t even stay awake most of the time, etc…
(YouTube & SHANE GILLIS IS HILARIOUS - TRUMP and SPEECHES)

Donald Trump could pass away, and be taxidermied, & Shane Gillis could do his speeches and instead of Trump at the podium, they would just play videos of jets flying by and Eagles soaring around cliffs and aircraft carriers over the ocean, etc…& things we just carry on led by the puppet Masters behind the curtains.
(YouTube & "TRUMP" LEAVES ADAM SCHIFF A VOICEMAIL!)

Seriously, play this last video above with your eyes closed and just listen.

That sure sounds like a bottleneck to be held hostage to rail strikes just getting there, and the same infrastructure to get it onto tankers once it gets there, etc…& I’m not saying that can’t be part of a solution, but it would be ‘part’ of ‘a’ solution.

If your shoe size is size 11 and you’re still a growing boy, and somebody gives you a pair of shoes that are size 8, exchanging the size 8 shoes for size 9 shoes is better…but it’s not ideal by any means.

The Burnaby terminal shoe size is 22 Canoe.

If my aunt was my uncle....

The
Trans Mountain Burnaby Terminal has a storage capacity of approximately 5.5 to 5.6 million barrels, housing 26 tanks after its expansion, serving as the endpoint for the Trans Mountain Pipeline system for crude oil and refined products distribution to local areas and the Westridge Marine Terminal. The pipeline system itself, including this facility, now carries 890,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil, with plans to potentially increase throughput further.
Key Details:
  • Storage Capacity: Around 5.5 - 5.6 million barrels.
  • Number of Tanks: 26 tanks post-expansion.
  • Function: Local distribution, feeding the Parkland refinery and Westridge Marine Terminal.
  • Pipeline Connection: It's the terminus for the expanded Trans Mountain Pipeline, which carries up to 890,000 bpd.
Expansion Context:
  • The Trans Mountain Expansion Project added 14 new tanks, increasing storage from about 1.7 million barrels to its current capacity.
  • This expansion also involved adding delivery lines to the Westridge Marine Terminal for tanker loading.
At present Westridge is using 1 of 3 berths.

In a statement on X, Smith said the "recent events" around Maduro's arrest serve to emphasize the importance of expediting the development of "pipelines to diversify our oil export markets" including a new "Indigenous co-owned bitumen pipeline to B.C.’s northwest coast to reach Asian markets."

If we build pipelines to Prince Ruprecht, would the oil go to China who was buying the Venezuelan oil which was bad for USA?

Maybe India wants Venezuelan oil over ours to replace Russian crude?

Free market capitalism is dead in the water like a fishing boat in the Caribbean?
Maybe if your aunt had balls, and maybe if America takes 100% of Venezuela’s production…those that “were” getting their heavy oil from Venezuela. Would have to get it from somewhere else…& we know who it won’t be if we can’t get it to them.

It won't be a problem for Canada for 20 years.

Ok. Will it be a problem for China? Or India? Or others? Venezuela has millions of barrels of oil loaded on tankers and in storage tanks that it has been unable to ship due to a U.S. blockade on exports imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump since mid-December. The U.S. blockade was part of rising U.S. pressure on the government of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro that culminated in U.S. forces capturing him at the weekend.

A deal to sell the stuck crude to U.S. refiners in the United States would redirect them from China, which has been Venezuela's top buyer in the last decade.🤔
