3) The only people who have a UN recognized nationality in the West Bank are about half a million Israelis living in Jewish only colonies. The nearly 4 million Palestinians living in the West Bank have no UN recognized nationality. The US vetoes Palestinian attempts to get UN recognition. Also Israel continues to expand their Jewish only colonies in the West Bank even though this activity is a violation of international law and many UN Security Council resolutions.

Here are a couple of articles from the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights that could or should be applied to this situation.

Article 9.

No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile.

Article 12.

No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence, nor to attacks upon his honour and reputation. Everyone has the right to the protection of the law against such interference or attacks

Article 13.

(1) Everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each state.
(2) Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country.

Article 15.

(1) Everyone has the right to a nationality.
(2) No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his nationality nor denied the right to change his nationality.

Article 17.

(1) Everyone has the right to own property alone as well as in association with others.
(2) No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property.

Article 21.

(1) Everyone has the right to take part in the government of his country, directly or through freely chosen representatives.
(2) Everyone has the right of equal access to public service in his country.
(3) The will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government; this will shall be expressed in periodic and genuine elections which shall be by universal and equal suffrage and shall be held by secret vote or by equivalent free voting procedures.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights

These are but a few. There are more that Israel violates in their policy and, well, simply their existence.

And how well were Jews treated in Arab countries prior to 1935 - how well were Jews treated after Israel as was their right became independent.

Prior to 1935, most Muslim and Arab majority countries treated Jews more or less the same as Christians and other religious minorities. In some cases, Jews got preferential treatment relative to Christians, because of frequents war with Christian majority nations. Being a Jew in most Arab/Muslim majority countries wasn't a serious problem until after Zionists started attacking non-Jews and committing massacres like Deir Yassin in Palestine.

Jewish exodus from Arab and Muslim countries - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Zionist Jews living in Muslim/Arab countries who aided and supported the Zionist State of Israel were treated much the same way our government treats Arabs/Muslims who aid and support al Qaeda.

During the 1930's, many Jews fleeing persecution in Europe, immigrated to Arab countries like Morocco, where they were well treated:

Moroccan Jews pay homage to `protector'
By The Associated Press | Jan.28, 2005

RABAT - Moroccan Jews held special prayers in synagogues in this Muslim kingdom Thursday in memory of those killed at Auschwitz, and expressed gratitude to King Mohammed V, grandfather of the current monarch, for protecting them from the Nazis during World War II.

As the world marked the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz death camp, the approximately 3,000 Moroccan Jews quietly prayed.

Morocco was a French protectorate at the time of the war, and Mohammed V rejected orders set out by France's collaborationist Vichy government as early as 1940. He refused to make the 200,000 Jews then living in Morocco wear yellow stars, as they did in France.

"There are no Jews in Morocco. There are only subjects," the king is reported to have said....

Also Turkey was a safe haven for Jews since their expulsion from Spain and Portugal in the late 1400's.

The Life of Ottoman Jews

For 300 years following the expulsion, the prosperity and creativity of the Ottoman Jews rivaled that of the Golden Age of Spain....

...In the free air of the Ottoman Empire, Jewish litterature flourished. Joseph Caro compiled the Shulhan Arouh. Shlomo haLevi Alkabes composed the Lekhah Dodi a hymn which welcomes the Sabbath according to both Sephardic and Ashkenazi ritual. Jacob Culi began to write the famous MeAm Loez. Rabbi Abraham ben Isaac Assa became known as the father of JudeoSpanish literature.

On October 27,1840 Sultan Abdulmecid issued his famous ferman concerning the "Blood Libel Accusation" saying:
"... and for the love we bear to our subjects, we cannot permit the Jewish nation, whose innocence for the crime alleged against them is evident, to be worried and tormented as a consequence of accusations which have not the least foundation in truth...".

And how well were Jews treated in European countries prior to 1935? Better or worse than Arab countries during the same period?

Again cheery picking the info that supports your view- Again you fail to impress - again you show selective episodes in history to support that biased view. Time and again- JTF- Bear and many others have shown you historical facts - you never see them - ignore them as they do not support that limited view-
But you have met your standard - a low one I might add - but your standards are low - so easily met.
So no surprise to anyone that can think objectively.

Yeah, poorly, as Dhimmi's. You never answered my question in a previous thread, if Israel agreed to a one state solution on the basis of Arabs in Israel being subjected to Dhimmi status, would the Arabs agree? Would that be the end of all the blood shed?

Heck, maybe Erekat will even be able to negotiate preferential treatment over Christians in some cases!

I don't speak for Arabs or Muslims.

My guess would be that if Israelis allowed everyone they ethnically cleansed off the land over the years (and their families) to return to their homes (as per many UN resolutions including the one that recognized Israel as a state) and granted everyone the same rights regardless of religion, a lot of hostility would be defused. A Truth Commission would also be helpful. Eventually people would get over their cruel treatment, injustice and oppression by Zionists. Jews would become a minority as a result, but unless Israel transfers the remaining non-Jews out of Israel ( a looming crime against humanity?), that demographic change will happen anyway. I would supporting ending Israel's status as a state that discriminates against non-Jews. Good riddance! I support separation of Church and State. Religion is the basis for Israel's apartheid-like policies which lead to injustice, oppression, hatred and violence.

I judge people by their actions, not their religion. My posts above are about setting the record straight about history and pointing out that treatment of Jews in Muslim/Arab countries was much better than what Jews experienced in Europe at the same time.

Goober appears to be confusing the extremely outrageously bad experience of Jews in Europe with the more or less neutral/poor experience of Jews in Arab/Muslim countries. I'm not even sure if Goober is aware that the Holocaust happened in Europe by supposed Christians, not in an Arab country by Muslims? So far he seems to have forgotten how badly European Christians treated Jews. Unlike me, Goober has not condemned the way Jews were treated by Europeans or even Canadians prior to 1947.

How about you JTF? Would you like to claim that Jews were better off in Europe during the 1930's and 40's than they were in any Arab/Muslim country at the same time?

Does anyone here seriously believe that before 1946, Jews were better off in Europe than they were in any Muslim/Arab country at the same time?

Setting the record straight, the current level of antisemitism in most Muslim/Arab countries is a relatively recent change and a direct consequence of Zionist atrocities which started in 1947, when Zionists cleansed most of Palestine of non-Jews to create a state based on religious discrimination. Before the Zionist committed all those atrocities against Muslims in 1947-48, Muslims never had a special hatred toward Jews. In fact most (all?) Arab and Muslim countries recognized that most their Jewish citizens were law abiding, productive members of society who contributed to their nation's wealth and prosperity. Christian nations in comparison tended to have a special hate for Jews and tended top treat their Jewish minorities worse than most other religious minorities despite their positive contributions to society.

Islam denounces antisemitism.

Judging With Justice About Judaism

HARUN YAHYA

In some of this author's earlier works, it has been explained that a merciless policy of occupation, oppression and massacre is being carried out against Muslims of the Middle East by some Jews who have adopted Zionism, which is a racist ideology. The human rights violations committed by Israel in the Middle East and in other regions were also explained. Surely, every Muslim and person of conscience and justice from every belief would condemn this unjust oppression and is right to do so.

However, the other side of the coin also deserves attention; both in history and in our day, some Jews are being unjustly targeted and subjected to violence by the members of other beliefs or nations.

The racist hatred felt for the Jews which is known as "anti-Semitism" is embraced by various fanatical groups, regimes or racist organisations. Today, many Jewish people face oppression because of this ideology.

This form of violence must definitely be opposed.

We are against Zionism, which is purely a racist and cruel ideology. Similarly, we are also against anti-Semitism, that is hatred felt for Jews, which is a racist and cruel ideology as well. That is because, our belief calls for a just and tolerant treatment against every nation and belief. In one verse, God commands us to uphold justice for each nation:

There isn't even equality amongst the Israelis. There is no religious freedom in Israel therefore it is not a modern state that follows the basics of human rights.

Lay it all out for me. Do break down on how an illegal occupation becomes legal in this instance.

My guess would be because the US supports it. Not that it becomes legal with their support but they intimidate the rest of the world into accepting it.

I agree with Nick too. That about sums up the reason why Israel can continue to build Jewish only colonies on land supposed reserved for a future Palestinian state and why Palestinians will spend their entire lives (from birth until death) imprisoned without fundamental human rights, freedom and justice... Things the US claims they support. But the reality is, that when it comes to Israel, the US supports injustice and oppression.

Holy crap, right to making things up that I never said in less than three posts, that's a new record for you.
