Complete, unadulterated horse****. Canada has pulled more than her share of the cold war defense load. Canada also did more than her share during the two world wars and Korea. The U.S. entered both world wars two years late as they were busy arming Germany.
Well, you're half right. we did more than our share in Korea and in both World Wars..........but I think you are a little confused about the Cold War and "arming Germany"
Trudeau, secure in the knowledge Canada was safely nestled under the US defence umbrella, butchered our military until we could not even fulfill our modest commitments in Germany and Norway. He started in 1969, 20 years before the end of the Cold War, and he is solely responsible for the ability of NATO and our other allies (especially the USA) to complain that we did not hold up our end.
That has only been corrected recently by our involvement in Afghanistan......now its the Germans that deserve to be crapped on for evasiveness.
The Americans sent an amazing amount of material to Britain and to Canada under the "lend lease" program (buy now, pay later....if at all)........before they were in the war. The sale of arms to Germany exists largely in your imagination.
You should let knee-jerk anti-Americanism blind you to the facts.
