I'd rather the Harper majority exist and we realize how much we screwed ourselves than succumbing to peer pressure and voting for a candidate I don't truly want.

Yeah, if I did that I'd be voting Liberal, Trish (NDP) has no chance in Farty's riding.

That's not the way I roll.....she's the one I dislike the least.;-)

Maybe he was coming back from Helena Guergis's hookers and blow party.

I doubt it becasue that would be cool.....Harper is about as interesting as paint drying.

I have pretty much made up my vote to vote for the NDP also, there was a time when I struggled
with what I might do, but I can't vote Conservative with Harper still on the planet, and that would
be too much to do anyway, they have plunged this country into such debt even without the payoff
to keep the world economy turning. The Greens, now there's a bad dream for you, these people
are so far out of touch with reality they make the Rhino Party of the past seem logical.
The Liberals, oh dear God, I think by ancestors would come back and haunt me if I did that.
As someone who looks at issues, issue by issue, it takes a while to listen, but at least the NDP
are talking about real issues and solutions to problems that are real. Harper says we will help but
in the future sometimes half a decade down the road. Besides Jack did very well in the debates
and I like him. Another vote for Jack then.

me too, i've flipped flopped back and forth in my mind, conservative (which I'm not), but it would
have been a vote against the liberals, but i've decided not to do that, as I think many will, and
I don't want to see the NDP slide, so my vote will go to them, yes, another vote for Jack.

Layton is a power hungry idiot, why else would he only get 15% of the votes in Canada.

Seriously, you can't think of any other reasons? Also, do you think he's the only power hungry idiot? They all need power to implement their agendas.

The MP in my riding is NDP Peter Stoffer. I think Mr Stoffer has ran and been elected for the past 3 elections. He has always been very vocal against the long gun registry.

Last year, he flip flopped, and voted against the private members bill to destroy the long gun registry. And he used 'I need to represent my voters' to explain his actions.

After years of Peter Stoffer being vocal against the long gun registry, and his voters still supporting him, I don't believe him.

Guns to me is a non-issue in this election.

I own two hand guns, yet support our gun laws.

I don't want it to be easy to own a gun.

The cons can build new prisons, not for drug offenders but gun offenders.

Caught with an illegal gun......25 years.

Ummm...handguns are exempt from the long gun registry,as they have their own registry. You, a handgun owner, should know this.

The twenty-five year thing is impossible right now, as the registration system is so ****ed that it is not admissible in court. However, dump the ENTIRE ridiculous obsession with creating useless, inaccurate lists of guns, and let our gun control system rest on a strict licensing system alone, and it becomes feasible to give mandatory prison sentences to those found with a gun, but with no license.

And 25 is a little stiff, considering people regularly get 10 or 15 for actually killing somebody.

Years ago, The NRA in the USA backed a law in several jurisdictions that provided a minimum 5 year sentence (that's a real five) for carrying a gun. They put out billboards announcing the program, and the police reported cases of unlicensed gun carry crashed....... it worked very well even in the roughest areas. A real 5 years is serious time.

Done!

Give them 12.5 years in this country, and they MIGHT actually serve five.

But you have to dump the Firearms Act in favour of strict licensing alone.........

Now that we solved that problem, what's next??

A real 12.5.....and I'll take the strict licensing....which we already have.

What next?

Educating you on AGW would be a start.

Iggy kept saying to rise up, rise up!!!

I was wandering if he was asking everybody to get their peckers up because he is sooooo boring ???
This way maybe he thought he could generate some interest in what he is saying!!

I've been thinking of it too since I've lost all respect for Harper, but there are problems- sometimes you loath the man but like some of his policies. Would the N.D.P. get tough on serious crime? I have my doubts and a party that won't do that is wasting our time and money on the other things. Just these drug bastards are costing us collectively $thousands a day in health care, police costs, insurance costs, rehabillitation costs etc.

The NDs are big tax and spenders.
They have not made any policies on how they would increase revenues for Canada, all they want to do is spend spend, buy everything for everybody, whatever they want, they want to buy it.

Ooooooooooooooh, Ooooooooooooh, So if I'm going away for 25 years for possession of an illegal gun I may as well shoot the guy who arrests as I'm pretty sure the sentences would run concurrent.

Good luck. Simply not one of my interests...

Mind you, I bet my household has a smaller "carbon footprint" than 80% of the people you know;

I'm a recycling fanatic.

I drive a little Versa.

My wife does not drive, uses public transit exclusively.

My heat never goes above 20 degrees C, and is at 15 at night, and is generated by an electric furnace.

I have no air conditioning.

You are what's called an economic enviromentalist.....you don't care about the environment and choose not understand it for political reasons yet respond to it for economical reasons.....better than nothing I say.;-)

Curious, what where do you get the power for electricity from?

The real problem with carbon is from burning coal or liquifying it for fuel.....if we eliminated that it would go a long way to reduce emmissions.

12.5 years.....Colpy and I worked out a deal.

Throw away the key if you shoot someone with it even if they are not killed.
