Heck yeah. Its where the Bronfman's set up shop. The Seagrams liquor flowed from Saskatchewan down the Soo Line (Chicago to Moose Jaw) daily.
See, that's why the Kennedys made it to the top. They dealt in whiskey.

I keed, I keed! I've actually had some quite decent Canadians lately.

Too bad you didn't take him up on that bet.
Then again your Canadian dollar would have only got you a little over half a real dollar. And that doesn't even cover the postage nowadays.

As COP29 — the United Nations’ annual climate change summit — gets underway in Baku, Azerbaijan
View attachment 25725Canadians may notice that their government isn’t broadcasting their participation to quite the same extent as in prior years.

Now, carbon pricing is one of the most singularly unpopular issues for the Liberal government, and this is the third year in a row that Trudeau won’t be personally attending the summit, which is taking place from Nov. 11 to 22.

Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault showed up promising to hand out more than $1 billion in climate-related foreign aid, and Canada has built an entire pavilion at the conference holding workshops ranging from Addressing Climate Disasters with Equity to Inspiring Change Through Global Children’s Perspectives.

Press coverage of UN climate change conferences often end up rallying around a central number. At the Paris Climate Talks, for instance, the goal was summed up as limiting temperature increases to 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels.
But….this time around, the main number is a monetary figure: US$1 trillion. That’s one of the suggested targets for the new collective quantified goal (NCQG); essentially a giant pool of money provided by rich countries to finance the climate mitigation efforts of poor countries.

Only a few years ago, Canada was routinely sending one of the largest delegations to UN climate change conferences. In 2015, Canada sent 283 delegates to Paris; a contingent that was double the size of the American team, and triple the size of the United Kingdom’s. Canada is sending about 370 people to Baku.
How many 100's of people did Trudy take with him? Oops, I wrote this before reading all of the above but it figures!! His troup is usually the biggest one to attend & we taxpayers pay for it all. Aren't we lucky?

Can’t speak for Al Capone, or whether he actually ever came to Saskatchewan, but there’s stories of tunnels under both Moose Jaw and Regina forever it seems.
From what I understand, most of the tunnel infrastructure under Regina is gone now, chopped in half when they built a couple of large shopping malls (Galeria & Cornwall), but at one point you can get from the Hotel Saskatchewan to the train station completely underground, & under the train station and under the tracks into the industrial warehouse area.

I’ve never seen or been, but I’ve heard the stories all my life.

I'd bet real dollars Al Capone never heard of Moose Jaw in his life.
Nope, he was in Moose Jaw more than a few times, securing Canadian Whisky and chasing Moose Jaw's finest.
About 12 years ago, they were renovating an old hotel and broke through the wall and found a hidden whorehouse.

Why would they hide a whorehouse when there were dozens legally operating up and down High Street? All of SK had whorehouses back in that day. Until 1958 SK was was the 3rd most populated Province and very raunchy.

Saskatchewan is the home of the $2 whore. It got to the point that $2 bills werent issued in SK. It was rare to see a $2 bill in SK until the loonie came along.

I remember a saying "Get off the table, Mable. That $2 is for the beer".

Actually, didn't he have booze stored in Moosejaw? Isn't there caves or something that he utilized. I can't remember but somebody did or had something in Moosejaw that had to do with booze during the prohibition but I'm probably mis-remembering.
In moose jaw they preserved some of the tunnels and offer tours including living areas within them, there were newspaper clippings and write ups with a Capone connection
