Is Canada ready for the coming electric vehicle revolution?

California to make solar panels mandatory on new housing.

All houses will depend less on the electric grid and contribute to overall carbon reduction.

This is the future. Homes will become more self sufficient.

You do understand why it works well in places like California and less so in places like Edmonton right?

Alberta is a natural for solar power

So you want to turn good farmland into taxpayers subsidized solar pannels blights on the landscape. All to cure a manufactured problem when we have several hundred years worth of oil, gas, and coal just sitting there.

Should always read an article before pressing send. It clearly states most of what they did was simulations. That is kind of like pretend sex.

Altogether too much emphasis put on electric vehicles. No one has even invented a functional electric lawn mower or weed eater yet.

Alberta is a natural for solar power

Of which 99% would be used for thawing stuff.

NO! The LIE-berals do not know or care why solar power works less well in Edmonton- or even in warmer Toronto either! And they will consider you to be VERY RUDE if you make comments about how poorly solar panels work when buried in snow and ice!

LIE-berals are focussed ONLY on how much gravy they can scrape off their mouldy green energy scams for THEIR personal profit!

It is why they are so focussed on their electric toy vehicle program and its why they can STILL hype the recent Toronto purchase of 30 "trial" electric toy buses in spite of the abject FAILURE of the two previous bus contracts that delivered shoddy equipment prone to breakdowns and which utterly FAILED to supply the advertised fuel savings!

And it why LIE-berals are so excited about their electric toy machines that cost at least twice as much as other machines- once the LIE-beral subsidies and accounting "irregularities" are sorted out of the mix! It is those same irregularities that enable Ontari-owe LIE-berals to claim- with a straight face that they had a balanced budget when they actually had a 4 billion dollar deficit last year!

Its the same accounting irregularities that enable LIE-berals to claim their deficit this year will be 6 billion dollars when the TRUTH is actually 12 billion dollars in new debt!

Its the same accounting irregularities that enable LIE-berals to help ALL our kids with education loan rule changes that give a very few kids more money while actually COSTING most kids MORE money!

Why don't you post a picture of your electric car instead of trying to preach......you pontificating hypocrite....

I will as soon as you learn to post an intelligent comment, you infantile moron.

Maybe you should re-read the article. The simulations were all about finding out if the tech worked - it did.

Where did this genius comment come from? Electric lawn mowers and weed wackers have been around for decades. I've got one of each.

Do they work when covered in snow ?

I don't know. Does your brain work when covered in snow?

It will be 50 years at the very least before Canada is ready for electric vehicles and even then Canada won't have the resources to provide the electricity. How much more land can we afford to flood? Wind energy is largely a joke and wave energy is a bigger joke.

I have an electric weed whacker too..................next to useless! My next one will likely be gas.

Sorry to mess up the Bar Silly Sister argument but I ALSO own both an electric lawn mower AND an electric weed wacker! And BOTH run off 120 volt power supplied from an extension cord to my house electricity supply- and you know what- BOTH RUN JUST FINE!

MY argument has been consistent and on topic- that LIE-beral sponsored battery powered electric TOY vehicles Are not ready FOR PUBLIC USE!

Just as a battery powered tool is one I REFUSE to buy because their working speed is sadly low, their service life is ridiculously short and the cost to replace batteries is ABSURDLY HIGH- so too are the costs and consequences of buying ANY of the current crop of LIE-beral sponsored electric toy vehicles!

And yes- dragging and electric power cord is a nuisance- but itb is nicely offset by faster working speed and longer tool service life! No need for costly battery replacement that went dead from lack of use and neglect in our LONG Cdn winter!

LIE-beral obsession with electric toy vehicles is a CLEAR INDICATOR of how much gravy they expect to collect if only they can force us to adopt this costly and currently quite inferior technology!

That is retarded even by your low standards. DO you have any idea at all how much electricity it takes to run any kind of manufacturing facility?
Maybe I better just shorten that to Do you have any idea.
Short answer , no .
