What do you think the kurds got gassed with? Just because there weren't a lot and they weren't in good shape doesn't mean they didn't exit at all.

Description of False Dilemma

A False Dilemma is a fallacy in which a person uses the following pattern of "reasoning":

  1. [*]Either claim X is true or claim Y is true (when X and Y could both be false).
    [*]Claim Y is false.
    [*]Therefore claim X is true.
This line of "reasoning" is fallacious because if both claims could be false, then it cannot be inferred that one is true because the other is false. That this is the case is made clear by the following example:

  1. [*]Either 1+1=4 or 1+1=12.
[*]It is not the case that 1+1=4.
    [*]Therefore 1+1=12.
In cases in which the two options are, in fact, the only two options, this line of reasoning is not fallacious. For example:

  1. [*]Bill is dead or he is alive.
    [*]Bill is not dead.
    [*]Therefore Bill is alive.
Examples of False Dilemma

  1. [*]Senator Jill: "We'll have to cut education funding this year."
    Senator Bill: "Why?"
Senator Jill: "Well, either we cut the social programs or we live with a huge deficit and we can't live with the deficit."
[*]Bill: "Jill and I both support having prayer in public schools."
Jill: "Hey, I never said that!"
Bill: "You're not an atheist are you Jill?"
[*]"Look, you are going to have to make up your mind. Either you decide that you can afford this stereo, or you decide you are going to do without music for a while."

That's meaningless, really. You could just as accurately say
In 2006, 91 per cent of all known executions took place in China, Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, USA, and Canada.
You're right, just as meaningless as connecting the executions of teenagers in Iraq to something that constitutes truth coming out Bush's mouth. No correlation at all.

What a pile of horse sh|it. That is not nearly as accurate as the first statement, because including Canada on that list implies that we use the death penalty, which we obviously do not.

Kindasleeza Rice said Ahmadinejad's government exports terrorism. Obvioulsy, she forgot her history as it is the USA that exported terrorism to Nicaragua, Guatemala, Vietnam, and now Iraq.

How about this deal. We'll let him lay a wreath if he lets one of our experts tour his "nuclear energy" program...

Actually the experts have toured all the nuclear facilities in Iran. Read the IAEA report for details. The IAEA has inspected the facilities to the extent that is has verified the non diversion of declared fissionable materials. The remaining issues on the table deal with past intentions and studies carried out in Iran. The IAEA has reached an agreement with Iran on how to resolve these issues, but the USA and France are blocking this at the UN level.

It should be noted that the Non-proliferation treaty affirms the inalienable right of nations to the use of nuclear research and other peaceful uses, Article IV.1 emphasis mine:
Nothing in this Treaty shall be interpreted as affecting the inalienable right of all the
Parties to the Treaty to develop research, production and use of nuclear energy for peaceful
purposes without discrimination and in conformity with Articles I and II of this Treaty.

So the UN resolution which demands the cessation of enrichment has absolutely no grounding inside the NPT, by the strict wording of the above article.

How much uranium have they enriched so far?

How much uranium have they enriched so far?

That might be in the link I posted... let me check.

Yup, they have fed 0.7 metric tons of uranium fluoride into their cascades. The IAEA measured a previous enrichment level of 3.7%, so about 25 kilograms will be produced when the current cascades finish. Previously, 14 kg were enriched which would amount to about half a kilogram that they currently possess.

Homosexuality is not a lifestyle choice, but homosexual acts are. So are heterosexual acts. We always have the freedom to choose how we satisfy our sexual urges.

True enough, but keep in mind that we also don't have the freedom to choose how our psyche responds to our repression of our biological needs. The general psychological response to forced mental repression is quite bad, that is why ascetic monks are so few.

:angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire: It is despicable that Columbia University has to suckall to a scum ball like this sorry human example of flesh . He is the lowest form of life that ever walked on the face of our planet.

Only some led between his dirty ears would make him stop the contaminated thoughts he has about the Jews and the Western civilization, this idiot has the potential of Adolph Hitler. Just imagine if Iran became the super power of the Middle East what would happen to the oil prices.

Columbia handled this exactly correctly......they allowed him to speak as a matter of principle, but vehemently distanced themselves from his views.

Freedom of speech is NOT just for those you agree with.

Kudos to Columbia and the President of same.

Iran's president isn't United State's president. His position is more figurehead than anything. Now, if the Ayatolla wanted to lay a wreath, you'd want to know what's in the wreath. Had some trouble-seeking member of NYC's militant Jewish community managed to attack Ahmadinejad, you can bet the world's sympathies would be fully with Iran should Uncle Sam invade. As it is, it only looks like USA is looking for another war....

Currently, but that doesn't mean that a 'incident" won't occur in the future that requires the US to preemptively strike...

Very true. Just seems to me Uncle Sam let an opportunity to show good faith slip by. You slight 'em once, you'll do it again - and arrogance is something the world notices.
