Article Five of NATO's founding document states that an attack on one is an attack on all. Yes, in that sense they were "our" buildings......as well there were a number of Canadian citizens killed, "our" citizens, and Osama has listed us among the top targets in the west for terror attacks. I think the bombing of Pakistan could be carried out quite cost effectively, I don't see any economic impediment whatever, the carriers are right there, next saturday afternoon is open, it'll be a cake walk. No the only thing in the way is a lack of backbone and family values. Our god is bigger than there god.
