I'm American, Texan, and a woman. I have been here at CC about 6 years. If you don't mind, I'd like to ask what you think about a few things.

1. Who is the more religious? - CN or AM?
2. Who has the most confusing government? - CN or AM?
3. Who pays higher taxes - all together (state, federal, sales, etc.)?
4. Who has the better retailers?
5. Name a dumb holiday for each country.
6. Which country has the most criminals per capita?
7. What heritage is most prevalent in CN?

Thanks.

1. Americans
2. Americans*
3. Canadians
4. The same. Some of the chain names change at the border but VERY similar either way.
5. Labour Day in both. I just don't see whats so remarkable other than the end of summer needed a long weekend.
6. the US
7. tough one. Probably British if you lump the English, Scots, Irish and Welsh in there. If not, hard to say.

*Edit: confusing gov't is probably relative to the system you grew up and are more familiar with. I grew up Canadian and find things like the redundancy in each state having its own criminal law systems as well as a federal one to be very confusing.

American.

Both are equally confusing at times, but it's the politics that makes them that way.

We Canucks like our social programs.

Both.

hhhmmmmm Queen Vicky's Birthday for Canuckville & GW's Birthday for Yankeeland.

The US by about 4 or 5/1000.

European for both.

I think G. Dub's birthday is celebrated more for the benefit of the first G.W. and Abe.

1. The United States is more religious.

2. The United States.....with the Electoral College, the power of non-proportional reps in the Senate, the separation of powers.........the American form of government is more confusing.

3. Canada....hands down.....we pay more taxes.

4. I'd say the USA has better retailers....from the flood of Canucks south this weekend.

5, Hmmmmm......no such thing as a dumb holiday, IMHO. :)

6. Canada has many more criminals per capita.....and a much higher crime rate in everything except murder......

7. Ohhh....I would say British heritage hangs on by its finger nails as the most prevalent.....followed closely by French....and Chinese.....

Why????????

1. I think the US is a more overtly religious nation.
2. Probably the US as the individual states have powers separate from those of the Federal government.
3. Canadians.
4. If you are talking quality - Canada, otherwise it would be the US.
5. I'm with Colpy on this one.
6. I think both are about equal with the exception noted by Colpy.
7. European.

6. Which country has the most criminals per capita? USA hands down
7. What heritage is most prevalent in CN? Probably Chinese. Look back in history in genealogy. There are pages and pages of Chinese.

Thanks.

1. Who is the more religious? - CN or AM? The U.S. certainly talks a lot about religion
Is the average American more religious? I don't know.

2. Who has the most confusing government? - CN or AM? The U.S. hands down.
3. Who pays higher taxes - all together (state, federal, sales, etc.)? Canada....Large country, small population
4. Who has the better retailers? Canada though a lot of our large retailers have been bought by Americans
5. Name a dumb holiday for each country. Victoria day....Named for a long dead British queen. It can't be dumb to get a day off.
