Northern Ontario,
Well, maybe I was away at just the right time then. I logged on and was surprised to see no posts since I left the forum. I thought maybe everybody was so distraught by my signing off that they stopped posting out of misery (or everybody was so disgusted by my posts that they stopped posting out of disgust).
I'm just so...... not touching that one....

re ''change we can believe in''

The right wingers say there has been no change. Yet, they claim Obama is directing Obama towards socialism. Change, yet no change.

Here's another racist diatribe!

Why is it that "liberals" always fall back on the word "racist" when anyone dislikes Obama. Is that all they have.

No debate, nope... just; "you're a racist."

So I guess, being that Obama supports "traditional marriage" over "same sex marriage" any of his supports can be considered homofobs and racists too.

Many people dislike Obama for various reasons, same as many people dislike Harper. Color (in most cases) has nothing to do with it..

Personally, I have just turned off the news... as it really does not matter who is in power, the little guy will always get screwed three ways to Sunday.

Impeach Obama!

Why? Because:

* stocks soar upwards!
* jobless claims reduced to lowest level since January
* HUGE increase in productivty

Stocks soar — Dow ends above 10,000 again - Stocks & economy- msnbc.com

BLAME OBAMA! BLAME OBAMA!!

Gopher, I think things are coming together for a recovery. It will take time, after all this was the worst meltdown since the depression, it can’t be fixed overnight. But the way things are going, I am optimistic that unemployment will start coming down in six or nine months' time.

Impeach Obama!

Nobody is going to impeach Obama although you may want them to do so.

Why? Because:
* stocks soar upwards!

Are you serious? Maybe Wall Street was mistaken

* jobless claims reduced to lowest level since January

Yet unemployment numbers reached their highest in 26 years at 10.2%

* HUGE increase in productivty

Partially correct except for the HUGE part. Production has increased but companies are not hiring and people are still losing their jobs as the facts (you should try using them sometime) show.

Stocks drop as jobless rate hits 10.2 percent - Stocks & economy- msnbc.com

Who should we blame?

Where did you get that headline, EagleSmack? Stocks drop? The headline in the link given by oyu is more accurate, it says ‘stocks zigzag’, not stocks drop. And quite right too, just now I checked DOW, it is down by a whopping 9 points.

Unemployment numbers do not really affect stock prices that much. Stock prices are mainly related to the profitability of the companies, and that is not necessarily related to unemployment. Many times when a company announces layoffs, its stock goes up, because investors think that the layoffs may help the productivity at the company and make the company more profitable.

Anyway, so it is total nonsense to say that ‘stocks drop’, they haven’t dropped yet. DOW is still above 10,000 (10,002 to be exact).

Why I got it from MSNBC and it was posted about 30 minutes ago.

You know MSNBC...the news source that Gopher lives and dies by. :lol:

So the headline of one MSNBC article carries more weight than the other?

Gee I wonder why? :roll:

Yet it is perfectly ok to say that stocks are SOARING when they are dropping. :lol:

Go back and click on the link given by you, in post #72. The headline says ‘stocks zigzag’ , not ‘stocks drop’. That is why I don’t know where you got that headline, that is not the headline given in the link provided by you.

I did and you are right...the article is not there...but it was. If you go to Gophers post it takes you to the same "ZigZag" article. No matter...here is another.

Stocks drop...and go up, all the time. One day isn't a very good indicator of what's going on, if you even consider the DJIA to be a good indicator of economic health.

Here's the longer term trend:

What can you deduce from single day's fluctuation on that chart?
