I thought I explained it fairly well.. I was not rude.. actually went out of my way to back off and not get angry.. the aggressor was the manager..

Look, I figure everyone can have a bad day.. however, I think if you are in customer service you should try and do better.. or at least take a breather.

As I stated, I have worked the other side.. I understand there can be problem people... from thieves to just plain nut jobs.

However this lady was not just taking it out on me.. but customers behind me and staff.

As I said, there could have been extenuating circumstances.. I don't know.. but as a shift manager she should then remove herself from the situation if things are that bad.

Honestly, if what my neighbor tells me is true, that she was let go.. that is sad.. I always wonder, what if she has kids to support, or an elderly person in the household.

Maybe as a person who was a manager and in the position of customer service I expect more.. I also give more.. just yesterday I was asked to help out a customer doing something that was clearly not part of my duties.. felt lake saying, sorry that is your job, not part of mine.. rather, swallowed my pride and helped out.. pissed off a little but shut up and did it any way..

They were very thankful for the help.. a happy customer and 5 minutes of my life.. bid deal.

Really, get a life.. McDonald's food is the problem if you watch the video.. I think we are all pretty much over weight after 40. Me too by 25 lbs. I need to eat better.. less fast food more home cooked..

PX90 or something.

It is a chemical in your brain that causes a person past 40-50 to gain weight. Evolution.

I thought it was a lack of the chemical.. testosterone

As all men lose testosterone as they age.. you know the man boobie... and gain weight.

Hormone replacement therapy keeps care of that, but you have to watch out for prostate cancer when you do this.

THANK YOU GERRYH

So, in the name of good customer relations, the shift manager at Mc Donald's should of made a new meal.. Correct. After all, it would only have taken her 5 minutes.. (your words gerryh)

You should not handle food after handling cash, I would guess... and remove lettuce with your bare hands.

As far as your statement that we have to be responsible about what we put in our bodies.. agree with you 100%.

I just moved to Calgary from BC.. I have to go back to BC at month end to get my furniture, kitchen wares.. and back to home cooked meals. As a trucker, unfortunately I eat lot's of fast food.. as I am sure too many are guilty off.. after my move is complete.. I am going on a diet.. The Dr Bernstein diet..

My goal is to lose 25 lbs.

I have no comment concerning the McDonald's supervisor. What I do have comment on is your inconsistancies. In the original message I quoted and commented on you had blamed McDonald's for obesity, and now you are saying that it is 100% a persons responsibility. Which is it?

As for where you're from and where you are moving to, I really couldn't give a rats ass.

I think its 50/50 half of the problem is McD's fault, the other half is the consumers, especially those who are frequently going there, instead of cooking their own meal at home.

Boomer,
I work in customerservice and it’s too bad we have to deal with ASSHOLES likeyou.

I shouldn’t have to put up with being yelled at or swornat for asking questions to determine the customer’s needs, but I do.

And yes, the customer is always ‘right’, even if they arenot. By the way, my job is a real job.

In fairness they've upped their game in recent years. Years ago when i put a special order in they wrote it down.. and shuffled you to the side.. until a new batch of burgers came off the grill.. It could be like.. 10 minutes. They got surprised by the success of 'Do It Your Way' by Burger King and upgraded their systems.. but they did so grudgingly.. without much enthusiasm.. and it still shows. Nothing works better than a staffed condiments counter.. but McDonald's couldn't be bothered.

The rare occasion that I do go to a McDonald’s, I always request something ‘special’ and they always get it right. I have to say tho, that there are 2 McDonalds within 10 blocks from my house and one of them, the food always is ‘better’ than the other, as far as taste, freshness and temp.

How does 10 double cheeseburgers sound like 10 chicken nuggets? That is what I had happen here in regina. Took food back showed them bill and then asked what was wrong with this picture? They said it was an honest mistake. Hmmmmmmmmmm well if you can't read the order why are you packaging it? What is worse is that I am all for new immigrants to have jobs here but there is one thing they need to understand, This is Canada, we do not speak punjabi, philippino, chinese, japanese, spanish, etc... LEARN TO SPEAK ENGLISH OR GET OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When Im in Kindersley SK I allways hit the Timmys for a double double and a sammy, real quick and the reason is I have seen guys take 5 minutes trying to explain how they want their bagel toasted and does it have msg? Salt? blah blah. The guys in the trucks behind just wanting a coffee will sometimes just lay on the horn.
This is one drive thru where you can hear the 4 cars in front of you ordering.
These guys make fast food joints become slow food joints.
Good grief, if you want to ‘special order’ something, park your vehicle and go into the restaurant instead of holding up the line at the drive thru!!

...even if they are not.

What would be the point in bitching if you didn't want to be right?
There is a book called “The Customer is NOT Always Right”. It’s hilarious! A good read for anyone in customer service.
