Hmmm. Could be the very beginning of the next continental glacier to speed out over northern Europe. It's got to start somewhere.

A renewed ice advance is one of the corollaries of global warming. The Gulf Stream is deflected westward by the salinity of the Mediterranean outflow and Scandinavia, Britain get colder and colder until the next ice advance in the Northern hemisphere starts there.

It's all those corollaries that have to be added to the theory to make the theory match something close to what is happening now that make the theory a pile of goose dung. But to the idealogues it makes perfect sense. Like the epicircle orbits that they added to each planets orbit when they were still trying keep the earth at the centre of the universe.

Justine will protect us next week in Paris.

Kathy Wynn will protect us more. She is going to Paris twice.

another run away, run away! You were all about the Optimum... you can dance your dance but you're still refusing to address just how you're attempting to draw associations/attributions between "whatever the hell period in the long distant past you want to dick around with" and today's relatively recent warming. Run away, run away dancingMan!

be all you can be dancingMan!

You and only you have been going off about Holocene optimum. See what I mean about ignorance?

I miss George. He was always funny.
george carlin is great but he's no scientist. of course it's true species have went extinct without any human intervention, but we've dramatically increased the rate of the extinction of many species since the industrial age. all the habitat destruction and pollutants released into the environment led to extinction rates never seen previously.

no worries... if you won't accept you were the guy flogging the Holocene Optimum... I've given you further latitude: "whatever the hell period in the long distant past you want to dick around with". Please proceed, Governor!

35 seconds in... that's quite the important part.

The end is the most important.. yes Humans have created a mess... however, honestly, we could turn off all our coal fired generators, cars, stop burning fossil fuels and it's going to take 12,000 years to fix. The damage is already done.

So, better idea... continue to push industry, but push harder for new technology that will take humans away from coal, fossils fuels for good.

Greening people out of work won't help in the short term.

New Technology is what is key, and people working, paying takes to support those new inventions.

BOOMer....industrialist have place a high value on coal for our future. It is needed to make steel. We have no choice but cut coal use if we want steel 200 years from now. Something we once saw as cheap now has a very high value in our near future and we must conserve.

You and only you. Do you black out when upset? So tell me are we or are we not at average for the Holocene?

Waaaaaaaldooooooo.

Is the question too hard? You don't like what the answer is? Dance dance, run run?

Come on boy, answer the question.

deflect, distract... runaway, runaway! Why do you forever refuse to answer the most direct question put to you... over and over again? Is there a problem for you? If you want to dick-around with references to the long distant past, in terms of attribution, simply come forward and state what direct associations/attributions from your "dick-around distant past point" you make to today's relatively recent warming. Just answer it... or... runaway, runaway! Your choice.

Have we improved our practices since the start of the industrial revolution ?

Yes it is, please try and eliminate all those damn chinooks from invading AB from the hot Pacific. How will we ever get the 4ft of ice that makes it safe to be out on the frozen lakes?

the pursuit of profits has never faded, it's as strong as it ever was. so until we actually start caring more about the health and welfare of people and the earth itself as more important than money, it'll never improve.

It's called an open door in Canada. In the summer you would get the cold from an insulated heat sink that is brought down to -40 during the coldest days of the previous winter.

Passive solar, build with the windows facing south, preferably on a south facing hillside then you can export energy.

Slough sharks could feed a whole village and then some for the same amount of energy expelled. (as long as you don't have to grow their food) More popcorn fed lake trout??

What will become important is each community lean to feed and clothe themselves as as commodities from other places may not always be available and flours doesn't keep you warm in winter, even with permanent chinooks

Now what? Deny deny deny?
