I really mean this, Pole Dancing Should Be An Olympic Sport.

Pole dancing is no sexier and no less athletic than synchronized swimming. Besides, many people today genuinely want it to be considered as an Olympic sport. And why not? Give the people what they want.
I'm all for it. There are so many stupid sports in the Olympics, they are starting to run out of sports to include. This seems like a logical next choice. Plus, I'm sure the ratings would be very high in the all-important 16-49 male demo for the advertisers.
Apart from all the fun you guys are having.....
Pole dancing could very well be a contender for another exercise competition included within gymnastics floor events at the Olympic games.
Take the sexual innuendo out and it comes a close replica of high tower diving...
Could certainly build up the attendance too ;-)

As I'd mentioned above, the Saudi team would solve that problem with the Burqas... or would it be the men's team?8O
As for the burqa-clads, I guess the art would be in the myriad ways they could send the silk fluttering through their movements, creating all kinds of impressive visual effects

I think it is kind of sad porn has dominated pole dancing - when done well I understand it involves all kinds of classical ballet ability (everyone start laffing here)... and it's too bad it has such a seamy (steamy) reputation now.

*snorts* Firemen, according to Les, use shovels to do their work. They shovel coal into locomotive furnaces. Some fire stations still have brass poles, some don't. Firefighters use water and chems to do their work.

Heck, in men's diving the guys are nearly completely naked. Synchro swimming is sexy. And all the clutching and grabbing in wrestling is about as sexual as it can get. So what's wrong with pole dancing???

I dunno, I've never asked a woman while a diving competition was going on if she was thinking sexy thoughts about the male divers , while watching them.. with their 4 yr old sitting next to them.
Some people may not want to admit it but women do a lot of eyeing of male athletes in skimpy costuming. This is especially so in men's diving and pro wrestling. Therefore, if women can have this type of fun, men can do so as well.
well they already have the womens volleyball teams (beach style) dressed up.. ironically, in hardly anything!
I think too many people would associate pole dancing in an erotic fashion..
