What can people do? What can the governors do? What can the scientists do?
What can the men in the space station do?

They can do nothing:
The men in the space station: they watch but cannot do anything to change the situation.
The governors can do nothing other than warning and evacuating people.
The scientists can do nothing other than investigating and expecting.

Therefore, the best action man may take, in addition to the necessary measures, is the prayer and supplicating God Most Gracious Who alone can calm the storm and avert people the harm of the hurricane and the harm of every affliction.

Quran 17: 67, which means:
{And when distress touches you at the sea c, [all] those to whom you pray will be forgotten d, except Him [alone] e}
.......................................................................

67 c When you fear of drowning by the impacting waves and the disturbance of the sea

67 d i.e. you will forget about all the gods which you worship.

67 e You will not forget about Him, because you know that God is the All-Able to save you.

It means: In the time of distress, you people, will pray God Most Gracious alone because you know that He is All-Able to save you, and you then will forget about your associates, patrons and idols other than God alone without associate.

I imagine you could probably draw a sermon from a turd you saw lying in the road selfsap

You say this because you are faraway from the dangerous region: you sit in Tel Aviv or some other place.

Quran 17: 67 ...
[Then God reminded them of another incident which happened to some men of Quraish tribe, like this, so He – be glorified – said:]

But when He bought you safe to the land, you turned away [from the monotheism and returned to the worship of the idols aa.]

Surely, man is very ungrateful [to God’s bounties.]

68. Do you feel secure that He may cleave the land open with you f, or may send upon you a shower of pebbles g, then you will have none to guard you [from that, but you will die as did those before you die because of that.]

69. Or do you feel secure that He will not bring you back to the [sea] once again h, and send against you a hurricane of wind i, and so will drown you because of your ingratitude, then – on Our part – you will find none to follow you up, as to the [drowning j.]}
..........................................................

67 aa Those men were Am'r son of al-'As and his group who went to Abyssinia seeking to capture the believers. I mentioned their story in the Quran 10: 22, which means:

(And when you were in the ships [going to Abyssinia, pursuing the believers who emigrated thereto]; the [ships] sailed with them by a soft wind ...etc.)

68 f It means: Your act is like the act of one who deems that if he reaches the land, will be safe of the afflictions, until you turned away from becoming grateful to God and from obeying Him to disobeying His orders; so do you feel secure that He may not cleave the side of the desert where you move and travel?

68 g As did He send, on the ‘Host of the Elephant’, the pebbles carried by the birds, and so He destroyed them.

69 h That is by letting you have a need to travel, so you will travel by the ships.

69 i Which will fall on your ship.

69 j i.e. you will find none to seek after your bodies and pick them up from the sea, neither shall We send anyone to pick them up as did We let some people pick up the body of Pharaoh from the sea, but your bodies will be food for the whales and sea animals to eat them.

The tribe of Aad who had dwelt in the city of Eram in the southern part of Arabia near Yemen, in a region of hills and sand dunes; they lived after the people of Noah. Then they fell in the idolatry (worshiping the idols which they associated together with God Almighty.)
God sent them a messenger out of them: Hood; he warned them against the idolatry and invited them to worship God alone, but they denied and disbelieved him.
They were exterminated by furious hurricanes, which God set on them for seven nights and eight days ... which lead to their termination.

Quran 69: 6-8, which mean:
{6. And as to Aad e, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent hurricane.f

7. Which He unleashed against them for seven nights and eight days [consecutive] g; and which cut [the trees and palms] like [the cutting by the sword]; so that you would see the people laid [prostrate: dead on the ground], as if they were hollow stems of palm-trees. h

8. And can you see any of them left surviving!? [No, they all perished.]}
..................................................................

6 e The people of Prophet Hood.
6 f i.e. a cold wind having a roaring sound of its blowing and moving in the atmosphere. The wind was with extreme speed, exceeding bounds, which destroyed everything it passed by on account of its force and severe movement; which is called the hurricane.

7 g Till it destroyed and terminated them as a whole, so it was afterwards called ‘The coldness of the old woman’.
7 h Which has been explained in the interpretation of the Quran 54: 20.

God is punishing the US for not destroying the Muslim world.

What an ugly liar!
For that you forge a lie against God.

So on account of your forging such lie, it is you yourself that will be punished by God Almighty.
You cannot escape God's dealing.

You're gonna make me cry. :(

But I'll smile again when I see the big fireball. You'll find any excuse to post something from the "Big Book of Muslim Lies".

So foolish indeed.

Do they feel secure now? The hurricanes may return more destructive to terminate the disbelievers and atheists.
And they are so weak and cannot do anything, these blasphemers.

See the post # 21 on the first page of this thread.

Fearing Hurricane Matthew, Florida Family Parks Car in Living Room to Protect It

As Hurricane Matthew approached Florida’s coast, bringing with it dangerous winds and flooding, one couple in Miami took matters into their own hands when it came to protecting their car: They put it in their living room.

Adriana and her fiancé, Gary, were bracing for the worst on Thursday, as Miami-Dade County canceled school for the rest of the week and officials urged residents to evacuate. Adriana, a 55-year-old widow who lives in a condo in Miami, planned to ride out the storm with Gary, also a widower, and his teenage daughter in his house further south in the city.

But Adriana knew there wouldn’t be room for her Toyota Venza in Gary’s one-car garage that already housed his vehicle. Worried about leaving Adriana’s practically brand new silver sedan outside in the potentially dangerous weather, Gary came up with a rather wild idea.

“He wanted to put my car in a safe place,” said Adriana, who declined to give her last name for privacy reasons.

Quran 41: 15-16, which mean:
{15. As for [the tribe of] ‘Aad, they waxed proud in the land [over God’s apostles and over those believing in them] without [having any] right [against the believers],

and they said: “Who is more powerful than we are? [Therefore, we :) the tribe of ‘Aad will) subdue any who defame our religion and revile our gods]”

[So God said]: Did they not see that God, Who created them, is more powerful than they are? [So had He willed, He could have terminated them in one minute.]

And they went on denying Our signs.

[Then God – be glorified - told about the way in which they were terminated, and He said:]

16. So We loosed against them a furious c wind [: storms] for [several] ominous days [in the time of bitter coldness], to let them taste the chastisement of disgrace in the life of the World.
And the chastisement of the Next Life will, surely, be more degrading, and they will not be helped [: none will save them from the punishment.]
}

On videos we saw many Floridians take their cars to some far highways in the north, and then stop their cars in line at the side of the road; in the car they took their families and their essentials and they stayed there and spent the night and hours until the storm passed in the south, as it moved eastwards.

Of course this was so wise.

There may be other videos which explain this better.

The marvelous are those palm trees, how they are created in a way to resist such violent storms, as it is evident in the above video.
If such storms blow on our date-palms, the date palm will break in the middle; it is not so elastic as the palm trees of America and similar regions.

When there is some natural danger, like earthquake for example, the birds and other animals behave in some strange way.
The eye of the hurricane: which is the centre of the swirl of the storm .. this eye of the hurricane is calm, while the wall of the eye which extends to some distance from the centre of the swirl is furious in movement and effect.

Now, some people have noticed birds like the seagulls and others go to the eye of the hurricane (or may be trapped inside the hurricane eye) which is calm.

Just had our first snowfall of the season. Love it.

The hurricane usually occurs when the sea is warm and the land is cold.
See also the post # 33, specially speaking about the hurricanes which terminated the tribe of Aad near Yemen, which happened before Prophet Abraham, and following the people of Noah.

Quran 41: 16, which means:
{So We loosed against them a furious wind [: storms] for [several] ominous days [in the time of bitter coldness], to let them taste the chastisement of disgrace in the life of the World.}
