Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked to leave a restaurant. The owner explains her decision that sparked a fierce social media debate.

Stephanie Wilkinson said she had no regrets about asking President Trump's press secretary to leave her 26-seat restaurant in rural Virginia Friday evening, an action that touched off a debate that was still raging the following day.

Specifically, barristers argue cases in court, drafting and filing the briefs and motions, and arguing. They're litigation specialists. Solicitors do everything else. For that matter, the usual procedure in a case is that the client works through a solicitor, and the solicitor liaises with the barrister. It's common for the party to never even meet the barrister.

Don't get me wrong about defense lawyers, there are times as you say when they are very important. I have absolutely no problem if they are there to see a guy gets a fair trial. The general ethos of lawyers in the adversarial system is "Let the world burn, that my client wins."

The theory is that having one (or more) lawyer on each side, fighting as hard as she can for her client, is the way to produce the best justice.

Notably, many other countries follow the "inquisitorial" system, which is much more a matter of judges searching for the truth than lawyers trying to win.

The fact that neither of these systems has "won" and been adopted by the countries that practice the other, is a pretty good indication that it's not clear which one is better, if either is. Kinda like your parliamentary vs. our congressional systems. Each has advantages, each has disadvantages. Presumably if one was clearly superior to the other, it would have been adopted by countries following the other.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. I think Trump has two personas, the one being as you describe reserved for politics and politicians, the other likely like the rest of us. No doubt part of Sander's duties is loyalty to her boss and if the reports are accurate she acted properly in the restaurant. The proprietor of the restaurant (if he's a good businessman) would treat all customers respectfully until such time as they abuse him or start smashing up the china.
