The links are based on research/studies. The research/studies either drew conclusions or strongly supported a direction. The "conclusions" were what the alarmist headlines were based upon.
Crock. The links are from newsmedia who do not include any of the research that the people they quoted published.
Alarmist? lol That's a laugh. The only people they might alarm is those ecotards you keep babbling about.

My comprehension is just fine Anna, but seeing how you believe otherwise, can you show me my error as it relates to the headlines and the conflict that they represent?.. Tonnington is unable to, perhaps you can
Really? Then why did you insist that those "research papers" never said anything about averages and they said each claimed the fastest warming?
Exactly. Your entire argument is based upon the wording of the headlines of news articles and titles of blogs. It proves exactly diddly about science. Actually it doesn't even show anything other than that people use attention grabbing headlines.

The CRU must be awfully busy these days.
And you based this assumption upon the wording in headlines?

Hahahah...

I actually commented on why there are so many places that outpace the global average, you commented that CRU must be busy, and then you lament that folks like me don't spend more time objectively analyzing the issue?

The fantasy is that science can't answer these retarded questions that deniers think are so witty.

Go back and read the link... It had nothing to do with "outpacing"... But then again, this wouldn't be the first time the eco-fringe relied on, shall we say, a very generous capacity to subjectively interpret.

You go back and read the links. They have each said that the areas they are talking about outpaced the global average or else said that those areas warmed faster than other places.

On the put up or shut note: Try this... Your inept argument that "refuted" (and I use that term extremely loosely as it has no real bearing on your effectiveness) Walter's post/links regarding avg temps etc is the biggest loser going... You've forwarded a flimsy argument thus far to "explain" the comment, but in doing so, you are supporting the contention that there is indeed no agreement or basis of fact in the "scientific" reporting from the ecotards that all seem to claim that their region or research boasts the fastest warming.
Inept? You're the one contending that the articles contained nothing mentioning averages and all claimed the fastest warming. :tard:
lmao

Any Globe&Mail readers here? There was a piece in last Thursday's edition about global warming, and it seems pretty clear to me. Every indicator--sea level, seasonal ice cover, air temperature, ground temperature, sea water temperature, etc.--over the last three decades points to warming, and in fact each of the last three decades has been successively the warmest on record. It's pretty much the same story as offered at Bar Sinister's link to the Edmonton Journal. The data cut off the global warming deniers at the knees, but I doubt it'll stop them, they'll keep on doing what they've always done, fasten on a few anomalies and ignore or deny most of the data.

Why is anyone still denying global warming. Isn't thirty years of rising temperatures enough? Oh, I forgot, Big Oil and the coal industry object to anything scientific study that might affect their profits.

Global warming 'undeniable'
The studies cited in the article were funded by big government; government is not a very credible sponsor of independent studies and objects to any scientific study that might negatively affect its control of the people.

Walter, you should change your name to Harold,as in,"Harold is the most dangerous of creatures,a clever sheep......once he gets an idear in his head there's no shifting it"
Anybody that is still saying the earth isn't warming up and we aren't the cause, just climb up on the bus with the folks that say the earth is only six thousand years old,it'll be leaving for hell as soonas the driver finishes his beer..

You've not quite described the issue accurately. First off it was denial that the globe was warming. Now after a few years, their denial has weakened and they claim the globe may be warming but humans aren't involved. I figure a couple decades after there's definitive proof we have a hand in warming, they'll eventually get around to admitting we have had a hand in it, but it won't have anything to do with oil.

Pretty much.

It's irrelevant who does studies. The relevant part is what the studies find and how close to reality the findings are.

Oh right - I forgot the scientific studies of the tobacco industry showing that smoking is a harmless pastime. And then there are all the scientific studies released by the pharmaceutical industry showing how effective and safe all of their drugs are. Yep - studies by money-grabbing private corporations are so much more reliable. I note that you did not point out a single error in the climate studies in your post.

Shocker, an opinion without any basis in reality. One of the links isn't even to an article discussing a study (Arctic), and the African study says this very clearly:

There is already evidence that Africa is warming faster than
the global average, and this is likely to continue (Figure 12).

This is a discussion paper from the Imperial College of London, from the Grantham Institute which was established in 2007 using charitable donations from the Grantham Foundation.

So, that would be NOT funded by government.

Another mark in the fail column for Walter.

No wonder!!! With all the thousands of SUV's, coal-burning power-plants, air-conditioned mansions, electrical appliances, theatres and restaurants with excessive electricity usage, ozone-creating hair sprays to curl their hair, those irresponsible Africans REALLY MUST cut down on their ravenous appetite for energy consumption and their extravagant life-style that is bound to destroy Mother Gaia!

Ever thought that it might be the deforestation of Africa, Jack? I doubt it.

"Ever thought that it might be the deforestation of Africa, Jack? I doubt it."

Reminds me of two lumberjacks claiming to better than the other.

One says: "One day I cut 52 cords of wood with a bucksaw".
The other says: "That's nothing! When I worked in the Sahara Forest I used to cut that much every day, including Sundays!"
The first one replies: "You are crazy or a damn liar! The Sahara is a desert."
To which the other one says: "It IS, NOW!"

JLM, Cliffy and petros are way too serious and above you and me with their stellar intellect and rip-roaring sense of humour.

AnnaG, you used the "lmao" so often that one can not help but feel that it is now completely OFF and you have nothing left to think with.

I take all your subtle and not so subtle insult with benign tolerance and a forgiving smile.

It wasn't an insult, it was a question. But I am not surprised you can't tell the diff.

AnnaG, to answer your question: I would love to carry around the big neon sign flashing 'AnnaG is ignorant' but there is no need. It is already painfully obvious.
