This is the kind of content that regularly makes it passed those "skeptics" at Watts Up With That:
Editorial: ‘Hansen is simply wrong’ and ‘his hypothesis is a complete and abject failure’ | Watts Up With That?

Anthony posts an email from skeptic for hire Pat Michaels, in which Michaels claims that Hansen was not peer reviewed (Michaels presents no evidence of this) and that the data available do not support a claim of Hansen's that increased warming is associated with droughts. Well what Hansen actually said in the paper is:
With the temperature amplified by global warming and ubiquitous surface heating from elevated greenhouse gas amounts, extreme drought conditions can develop.
What Hansen said is true. Of course Michaels is also correct, and there is a missing part of the equation, precipitation. So, Michaels then presents what he asserts is evidence against that. It's a scatter plot of temperature versus the Palmer Drought Severity Index (PDSI). OK, that's actually a very sensible thing to do. So what's the problem then? It's a scatterplot of US PDSI versus global temperatre anomalies. Global.

You just can't make this stuff up. Though Michaels did, and as a climatologist he knows better. But he knows his audience too.

For those interested, many climatologists have studied this association exactly, written papers about it, and turns out, the scatterplot shows a definite association.

Makes one wonder why the difference between satellite and thermometer is so small then...

The trends are statistically the same...

Yep. Raw data doesn't make adjustments. It's just interpretations that vary from extreme to extreme..

It's just more throw spaghetti at the wall. This is a familar dance. They recycle zombie talking points that just won't die, because as Loc already said, their mind is already made up.

Today, the official arbiter of Earth’s weather records, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), announced that the all-time heat record held for exactly 90 years by El Azizia in Libya “is invalid because of an error in recording the temperature.” The WMO committee found five major problems with the measurement.

Most seriously, the temperature was measured in a paved courtyard over a black, asphalt-like material by a new and inexperienced observer, not trained in the use of an unsuitable replacement instrument that could be easily misread.

So a combination of siting, inexperience, and instrumentation led to a record that was 7 degrees high, and it has taken decades to figure this out. It makes you wonder just how many other weather records and data are erroneous. My congratulations to Weather Underground for making this find.

Deserves another look based on the current shennanigans over at wikipedia.

History of climate gets 'erased' online

A new report reveals a British scientist and Wikipedia administrator rewrote climate history, editing more than 5,000 unique articles in the online encyclopedia to cover traces of a medieval warming period – something Climategate scientists saw as a major roadblock in the effort to spread the global warming message.

Recently hacked e-mails from the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit expose a plot to eliminate the Medieval Warm Period, a 400-year era that began around A.D. 1000, the Financial Post’s Lawrence Solomon reports.

Now it's environmental pollutants causing dick shrinkage. Tiny dudes can now blame their wee shriveled (pardon the pun) 'hockey sticks' on evil corporations, big-assed veehick-les and capitalists.

read all about these munchins here:

Report: Male Genitalia Shrinking « CBS Philly

Just no end of the BS the global warming truthers will try to destroy the economy. They must figure that red necks will all of a sudden stop using fossil fuels if it causes their dicks to shrink while threatening them with untold horrors happening to the world does not register.

Goracle Declares “All Weather Events Now Affected By Global Warming”…

Talk about moving the goal posts.
Guardian: On whether Obama’s re-election and the aftermath of Sandy represent a moment for climate change action:

Gore: I think it definitely is a time when more and more people are focused on the extreme weather that has disrupted so many lives. People who have not really devoted a lot of time to thinking about the climate crisis in the past are now saying to their family and friends: “this is clearly a new time. The weather is just not what it used to be”.

We call it dirty weather because dirty energy creates dirty weather. As the leading edge scientists have been telling us for a few years now, we are long past the point where it is sufficient to say that you can not connect one storm to the climate crisis.

In fact, all weather events are now effected by global warming pollution. There is a difference, as others have said, between systemic causality and linear causality – just as you can’t often say that a person with lung cancer got it definitely because he or she smoked cigarettes throughout their life. You can say smoking cigarettes does cause lung cancer. The fact that the oceans are warmer due to man-made climate change means that storms have more strength and force from the ocean heat energy.

Extreme weather events are on the rise globally, if not climate change what is the reason?

Those that make their living contributing to climate change do not want to feel the responsibility. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.

People afraid of facts deny climate change like the religious anti-science crowd.

The Sound Of Settled Science
For years the BBC has claimed that its propagandistic position of promoting the catastrophic global warming fraud, censoring the appearance of dissenters and even getting rid of anybody who refused to push the party line (e.g. Johnny Ball, Peter Sissons and the still very popular David Bellamy) was justified. The justification for this was that they claimed to have called, in 2006, a meeting of the country's 28 "best scientific experts" who had unanimously told them that there was no scientific doubt that we were experiencing catastrophic warming. [...]

So who are Britain's 28 "leading scientists". There is a recently published list of Britain's 100 leading scientists and none of them are on it. There is an MP, a Church of England devine, representatives of Greenpeace (2), Stop Climate Chaos, the US government, BP, a "renewables" company director, and other "environmental" activists. Of the very few of these "leading scientists" who have any claim to being scientists one is a gentleman who has gone on record as saying what he does (which he calls "post normal science") is to tell those in power whatever they want to hear.
