How can we get rid of our sinfulness?

I'm sure there are nuances, but there are thousands of Protestant sects and I can't claim to know what it means to more than a few of them, but in essence it must be a transgression of some divine edict . At least in a religious context, which this thread is. The word's also used in common speech simply to mean something that's highly reprehensible, as L Gilbert posted a while back from a dictionary citation, but that's not what this thread's about. Or at least it's not what I'm talking about. Telling a boyfriend that he's stupid, for instance, might do him harm and might be wrong (unless he is stupid of course, but then you shouldn't be dating him; you can do better than him ;-) ) but it's not a sin in either sense.

Well , what I belive that even if the god is just the beutiful dream then also you must live that do not miss even a single drop like needle point drop , and faith in jesus or to be more precise its start from your heart as look said you need to have heart for same and what I trust your soul starts feeling that jesus is coming down in your body , in your thoughts , in your ears , in your dreams , in your every steps or every single second of your life the idea is so beutiful and atleast I dont want to miss the same thats the reason I trust in god , oh Jesus please please give them what they want to know.....:read2:

The start of the thread was how to rid ourselves of sinfulness. My stand was that I think people should show some self-control and accountability and just quit sinning. The "faithful" insist that everyone sins every day. The topic got sidetracked several times by debates on whether deities and other fantasies exist or not. My stand on that is that they exist but only in humans' minds. The "faithful" say these things exist in their hearts.
So that's what I remember off the top of my head.
I forgot to mention that due to someone's fervor in quoting the bible a few hundred times, the entire bible is probably rewritten in here.
I'm just kidding.
Anyway, might as well pull up a stump and stick your quarter's worth in, too.
hey its not even 1% of bible and you claimed entire , no....... any ways lets back on track as you want so what are your ideas about the same..

I might add that until people show a bit of self-respect, they'll never have any respect for anything or anyone else and they'll never be awarded any respect.
My idea of getting respect from others is first you show and give them respect again no one cant ask you to respect or ask for respect for him / her self but its starts automaticaly from your heart and you at that time so faithful to your own feelings that you cant miss that respect for same person even at his/her back ...
I guess I agree. I think you said that respect has to be earned. But, until one has respect for oneself, he/she can't award anyone or anything else any. Kinda like anything else; water, love, spits, beer. One has to have some before giving any out.

It is, I suppose, a matter of perspective. Ask your infamous Fr. Henry! I could list so many instances where knowledge brought strong faith in the Gospels and Christ.
I didn't claim it was the only way, I merely indicated it is one of the ways. Naturally, God does not expect us to sit back like a bag of potatoes waiting for a miracle. But prayer, conversation if you will, with God is a great means of focus and self-relization.
Sometimes it sucks to be a priest or a firefighter.
It certainly does, but even though the pay sucks and the hours are forever, the benefit programme is top-notch!
Firefighter is hard and difficult job every time your life is on stake when you are on your job but it feels good at the end of the day when you save lives
