Jesus was not only our Saviour, He was a remarkable teacher. To think of how much His influence is still felt, so long after His physical death, is mind-boggling.

Yeah, like Socrates, Aristotle, Plato, Diogenes, Buddha, Confucius, Euclid, Heraclitus, Lao Tsu, Androcles, the Vedas folks, Upanishad folks, Hindu folks, Yogic folks, Zarathustra, Sun Tsu, etc.

Firefighter is hard and difficult job every time your life is on stake when you are on your job but it feels good at the end of the day when you save lives

There are many tasks just as difficult. You know, a few years ago the Church studied its own employees and was surprised to find that nearly 55% of priests had at one time considered leaving their ministries. Mind you, The Vatican did not widely publish these statistics

but okay, maybe its dogma to you, but not to others.what i mean is. is there really anything wrong with being religious? isnt it better to have a good set ofmoral values than none at all?

Of course it is.If being of the faith means one is morally upright and trying to live by the essence of the Gospel, that is enough I think to justify the beliefs that individual has.

Indeed, but to play devil's advocate, these were all good MEN, but none quite offered the promises of Christ.

Funny, even our friend AJ tries to downplay the fact that Jesus Himself claimed His "religion" was quite exclusive.

I didn't claim it was the only way, I merely indicated it is one of the ways. Naturally, God does not expect us to sit back like a bag of potatoes waiting for a miracle. But prayer, conversation if you will, with God is a great means of focus and self-relization.
I misunderstood. Sorry. I s'pose it works for some. I don't seek the inner me by doing it that way, though. Sometimes the outside world reflects the inner me and sometimes I just look inwards.

Psychologically, the best way to resolve inner conflicts is to first acknowledge them. If prayer helps us to internalize and vocalize our despair, that is a healthy beginning to healing.
