San Jose will be facing the Penguins and the Canucks will be wondering what they have to do to get by the Blackhawks, who bounce them from the post season for the 2nd straight season...

San Jose could just be bounced again, that line that is suppose
to take care of everybody, looked lackluster in the olympics,
can't stand the heat in the kitchen.

Yeah, chicago could go all the way, but this year they are expected to do
that, makes a big difference, they are not the cute kids who don't realize
how good they are, and they 'have' to do it now, so lets see if they can.

Los Angelos is the dark horse for me, and I never trust
anaheim when playoffs come around, not impressive right
now, or all season, but still can't understand why, as
they have lots of good players, and Hiller in goal, be
careful of them.

canucks have a good chance of doing great things in the
playoffs, need defence to get healthy, at least Bieksa,
last night Rome played a great game, maybe he is coming
round.

I see Calgary took a 4/0 trimming to Minnesota. Sure will be nice not to have them to contend with at play off time - if they get a sniff of blood they can be a little pesky for the Canucks. I'm beginning to wonder now who the Canucks will be facing in the Stanley Cup finals.

Calgary don't have any 'passion', they look disinterested,
not sure why, maybe because they have so many different
players. Sure would be nice if they miss the playoffs.
I wouldn't shed one tear.

vancouver/chicago tonight at 5:30

this will be a good game, always exciting with chicago,
they are a young, fast, fearless team.

I think they are more vulnerable than last year, their
goalies, are not what they should be, but their attitude
is one that, well, just keep the puck all night, so the
other team can't shoot on our net.

We will take care of that tonight, as long as our team
goes in there with lots of passion and determination,
as we have as good a team as they do, sedins have to show
up, and the rest of the team have to chip in, and luongo
needs to play solid, shouldn't have to win the game for
our team, just do his part, with a great save here and
there.

I love the song that is played when chicago scores, but
don't want to hear it much at all tonight.

Very bad start for canucks tonight, they shot themselves
in the foot in the first ten minutes.

The defensive coverage around luongo was not good, and
that first goal was a fluky thing.
Too many penalties, I felt sorry for Luongo, they deserted
him too many times.

It will be good when Bieksa is back, and when this new guy
gets more familiar with the play. Bieksa is travelling with the
team, practicing, but they want to make sure that area where
he was cut is not vulnerable, he needs more muscle strength.

The twins played better again, but they still need to ramp
their game up a little more, but they are coming back to
their earlier form, and burrows got another nice goal,
now he's at 29.

We are 2 and 2 with Chicago this season, and the one game
we lost was only 1-0, and we could easily have won it, so
we should remain a concern for them when playoffs come
around, and we should just dismiss this game tonight, and
forget about it.

Just a follow-up re: a suspension or not for the hit into
the end boards the other night.
montreal/san jose

the player was given a 4 game suspension.

I also noticed that Booguard/minnesota was also given
a 2 game suspension for an infraction, I'm not familiar
with that one.

That is good, and shows a continued improvement and seriousness by the NHL regarding these infractions.

Nice win by canucks today, 3-2 I think it was.

A couple of fishy goals by nashville to start the scoring,
first one went in hitting twice off of Rome's foot.
Tootoo, came in on the wing, shot the puck at luongo, he
stopped it, it landed right in front of him and tootoo
just smacked it again, it went straight up in the air and
fell behind luongo.

We got one 'easy' goal from samuelsson, who made a quick
shot from over at the boards, and in it went.
Pretty goal by edler, from kesler and demitra.
Nice breakaway goal from Hansen, who shot it in from a
rebound.

Next game in Colorado on Tuesday, a big 4 pointer.

The little 'coward' matt cooke, landed a head shot on marc
savard today, sending him off the ice on a stretcher,
and off to the hospital.
An interview later, which I watched with Matt Cooke, he said
"I didn't think I did anything wrong, I was just hit like
that by their defenseman last shift."
WRONG
They showed both hits, matt cooke was hit, 'shoulder to
shoulder', matt cooke hit sevard, 'shoulder to head', you
could see savard's head snap back, and
flattened him instantly, and he needed medical help.
I would give him about 10 games suspension, lets see what
NHL give him.

General Managers are having a big meeting this week in florida, and
top on their list is 'what' to do about head shots, among other things.
Maybe Matt Cooke will be their first 'set an example' guy, but no, I guess
his suspension will come before that meeting is over.

Woo hoo, Talloola..............:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

interesting game, they sure know how to rattle our chains,
put us in a depressed zone, then slowly bring us up to a
happy zone, then a victorious one.

Huge win, puts us 4 points ahead of colorado, and even if
we're tied at any time, we have a few more wins, so we are
ahead, when tied in the division.

Was good to see them pull it out so late in the game as well. Coming back from behind and taking the lead.. D Sedin with an empty netter..

Yes it was, at the end of the first period, I didn't dream
that they would fight their way back, but should have thought about it, as they have done that quite a few times
this season, but 3-0, then 4-1, and such goofy things were
happening in the game, and those young guns on colorado
were flying, BUT those young guns couldn't get it done, and
our guys started to look very good, and luongo made some
great saves, after not having a very good first period along
with the rest of the team.
By the end of the game we were cheering and howling and
urging them on, then the empty netter, WOW, now if they
can do it again tomorrow, it will be an end to a great road
trip, but phoenix is a very good team this year, so they
have their work cut out for them, and they must be very
very fed up with being on the road, it will be good to see
them come home too.

Oh talloola, that glove save Luongo made in the 3rd period on the breakaway was just gold..

I think Phoenix traded a few players before the deadline.. Not sure what impact that will have on them.. Good or bad, it will impact the team..

That said much like Keskin, I have not had as much time to watch them as I wish.. The TV is usually on kids networks here and it's only because it's break time that I am getting some time for me ( kids are at Mom's house ).. :)
