And he probably stopped more hard ones. I've always believed if you are going to criticise someone for the bad you have to praise them for the good. I'd say Lu is on the plus side of the ledger!
Yeah, he certainly had a good share to stop where the defensemen were "sleeping".

Season series: The Vancouver Canucks have won five in a row against the Calgary Flames, including all three games this season. The most recent victory was a 3-2 shootout win at Rogers Arena on Jan. 18.
Big story: The Canucks return home looking to stop the bleeding after a 6-1 loss to the Dallas Stars on Thursday, their 11th defeat in 12 games. Vancouver is nine points ahead of Calgary in the Pacific Division standings, but the Flames come into the game on a bit of a roll after back-to-back wins at home.
Team Scope:
Flames: Calgary honored Hall of Famer Joe Nieuwendyk on Friday night by raising his No. 25 to the rafters of Scotiabank Saddledome, but needed a third-period rally to avoid having the New York Islanders spoil the party. Calgary trailed 3-1 with less than nine minutes to go, but Joe Colborne sandwiched two goals around one by Sean Monahan to send the sellout crowd home happy after a 4-3 win.
"There's just no quit in this team," said Colborne, who capped the comeback by scoring the go-ahead goal with 4:19 left in regulation. "We weren't happy with the way we played, especially in the second period, we got outworked and that's not what we stand for."
Canucks: The last time these teams met, the Canucks appeared to be well on their way to a berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. But a 1-10-1 slide has dropped them four points behind Dallas in the race for the final wild-card berth. They were overwhelmed by the Stars, who got three goals and five points from Tyler Seguin.
There weren't many positives, though coach John Tortorella said he was pleased with the play of newcomer Shawn Matthias, a center who was part of the package the Canucks received from the Florida Panthers in the Roberto Luongo trade.
"I thought he played well," Tortorella said. "He was probably our best forward. He did some good things and wasn't afraid to make a play and made some good plays. I'm really happy with his play."
The Canucks will be without forward Zack Kassian, who was suspended for three games by the NHL on Friday after taking a major penalty for boarding Dallas' Brenden Dillon.
Who's hot: Monahan has three goals and five points in Calgary's past four games. … Zac Dalpe had Vancouver's only goal in Dallas.
Injury report: The Flames are without defenseman Dennis Wideman (upper body), goaltender Karri Ramo (knee) and forwards David Jones (shoulder), Jiri Hudler (lower body), Kevin Westgarth (head) and Curtis Glencross (ankle). … Vancouver is missing forward Daniel Sedin (lower body) and defenseman Andrew Alberts (concussion). Center Mike Santorelli (shoulder surgery) is gone for the season.

calgary played last night, defeated islanders, they Are a fun team to watch this year, improving
faster than expected, as they are doing a complete rebuild.
if canucks are going to win one, this should be it, jump on a team that might be a wee bit fatigued
from playing the night before.
i'm looking forward to seeing nicholas jensson, although the way canucks are playing right now, one young
rookie can't be expected to change much, the rest of the team must step up.
i believe canucks are picking up about 2 million a year of luongo's contract for the duration, so he
isn't completely gone. lol
aaaaand, if he retires too soon, (can't remember exactly the fine print), cAnucks will be responsible
for the pay out left on the contract.
they should deduct the overlap from gillis's check to cover extra costs.
he did go thru a fair stretch where he was letting in goals that were totally stoppable, but
that wasn't the cAse this season, i saw a luongo at his best, made great stops, looked very
confident and strong, i thought he was a very strong force for the team, torterella blew that
feeling away at the 'heritage classic', (and, by the way, no, the trade was not at all in the
works at that time), the trade for him was always an open subject between florida and canucks,
but that game was the final blow for luongo, the phone call was made the next day, and trade
talks ramped up. luongo was upset by that torterella decision, so was i, i couldn't believe
what he did, and i also couldn't believe it when he took the 'A' from kesler's jersey. i'm
sure that is the time kesler decided to ask for a 'trade', i can't for the life of me figure out
why he would take that A away, kesler was a top player, allready had the A, what would be the
reason, (other than making some sort of bold statement to him) to take it away.

I was so choked at Torts when he put Lack in for the Heritage game, talloola especially after Lu had to watch Carey Price play in the Gold Medal game at the Olympics. I can well imagine it was a really tough time for Roberto but as he has done in the past, he carried on and was ready to play when called upon. That is the mark of a true Champion.
yes, agree, i'm sure he wished he could have had those olympic games, but he also wasn't pissed that he didn't,

BUT the classic was 'his', he has paid the dues to play in that game, his play was just fine, but torterella
was coaching out of fear by then, and decided to go with lack, who wasn't letting much of anything in, but
he also wasn't winning games for canucks, more losses than wins, so it just didn't make sense, and
again torterella made himself less respected.

I admired Lack who made a lot of great saves after he missed what should have been an easy stop. The Canucks in the third were a different team than they were in the first and the second. They worked hard, they were aggressive, Who knows, maybe the win will give them some confidence.
Just enough to convince Calgary! -
Actually I'd rather see them play like that early good enough to keep even with Cgy. until they had a chance to put them away in the third, unlike the game against Ottawa when they came out like gangbusters and establish a good lead, just to run out of steam. Higgins needs a talking to tonight!

he traded moulson for vanek a while back from buffalo, gave up a 1st and 2nd rnd draft pick, both players were going
to be unrestricted free agents, and both seemed like they wanted to test the market, so would not sign,
so at the end of the day, he gave up those picks and vanek for a minor leager,from montreal, yes kreskin among other
things he and gillis are in a race for dumbest managers of the last five years.
if he had of just kept 'moulson' and did the same trade with montreal
he just did on deadline day, he would still have the first and
second round draft pick, he stupidly traded away.
