I think new teams 'anywhere' in canada would be good, (within reason), and it makes sense to put another team in that area, the people are there, and the money.
I also want to see a team in Seattle.
Didn't toronto whine and sniffle when suggestions were made to move a team into
hamilton, seems they wanted it all for 'themselves', at least that was the news
on our media, not that I believe anything they say most of the time.

Of course they want the money for themselves. It's groups like that which are killing sports in a lot of markets. They do not care about the product(in this case, the team), they just want the money. A second team would be good for the NHL but not so good for the Leafs. Good. They need to be taken down a peg and stop force-feeding crap to us loyal fans.

yeah, the montreal fans are 'vicious', even against their own team, they can turn
on them in minutes.

Remember when the Montreal defenseman scored on his own net earlier in the season? Wow! It sounded like they wanted to tear him apart!8O

That's right, and I'll bet the habs are dreading going home after this horrid
road trip, they better win a couple before they fly back into montreal, or
they'll need security around them.

I'm not sure if that would change much. If I recall, I heard the same talk when Ottawa arrived on the scene.

Hamilton is a lot closer to Toronto than Ottawa, so the fan base would be affected for sure. A lot of fans, tired of the same old song-and-dance from Toronto ownership, would probably flock to a new team. Especially if it was coached by Wayne Gretzky.

We care. Obviously you don't, so why don't you take it to another thread? Your opinion will not change our minds.

Okay , be a homer but be a homer quietly. We all know there is a team Vancouver, there is also a team in Montreal, Calgary, Denver, Edmonton, Calgary

Like that will happen. We will talk about Vancouver if we want to. LOL! Like we will listen to you.

Your point is ?

My point is that as a Moderator of this forum, I have previously asked you to stop insulting the originator of the thread. You still insisted on calling her a "homer". While I realize that the name itself is certainly not as bad as other names could be, you meant it in an insulting manner.

I have given you fair warning earlier in the thread. Stop the trolling in this thread.

You can have a nice three day vacation, Parson. Maybe when you return you can treat others here with a modicum of respect.

Not only was that win good for the stats. but to beat Montreal is a four pointer psychologically.

Winning a Stanley Cup is the only measure of a good team - who cares about losers like the Canucks, the Leafs, or other underachievers - count the cups and count the rings...seems simple enough. Canucks have - hold it now - None.

Have you always been a troll or is this something you've just started? People enjoy a chance to talk about their team and they don't deserve all this negative crap from you. Either start a topic about your own team or go away and keep your spam to yourself.

You have a lot to learn about life, man. There's a lot of very intelligent people who aren't Rhodes scholars.

Toronto and Montreal both lobbied to keep Vancouver out of the league for a few years. At that time they didn't want to share the tv revenues. Hamilton always seemed a good idea to me and I think that city could support a team....Still do. If they put a team in Seattle, it should be one of the existing American teams.

I didn't watch the Canucks last night because it was a pay per view game. I watched the goals on the Canuck site. D. Sedin got his 24th goal last night.....He appears to be headed for at least a forty goal season.

Canucks' salary total for 2008/2009 = $48,144,999. Completely irrelevant.

There has always been a large number of homeless in Vancouver. The number is usually greater in the Winter when a lot of them move out from Alberta and points east.

Average salary for general practitioner in B.C., $137700 ... Average salary

Lots ot students don't have any debt. Both my son and my daughter bought all their own books. We paid their tuition and they stayed at home. Both had part time jobs all the way through college. My son paid for a good part of his graduate work and there was some scholarship money. It is certainly not necessary to run up a $35,000.00 debt. There are co-op programs and bursaries that almost nobody applies for.
BTW, the average student debt for those who have a debt is more like $27,000.00

None of this has to do with professional sports.

Shadowshiv- I think you may have another incarnation of Harley here.

Thank you for the warning, but I don't think we will have to worry about Parson any longer. I have decided to change my mind and give the fellow life imprisonment rather than a 3-day vacation.;-):p
