It's not lack of sympathy for the children to put the blame where it belongs!

The blame goes to those who pull the triggers, thems the rules, DaComa.

Of course Spade was right, but the term International Community is polluted and spent, by now it reeks of decay.

Gaza would be impossible if such a community existed. It does not.

Look what the international community has done for the Haitians, fockin enslaved them
To be fair France saddled Haiti with a 'freedom loan' that took 250 years to pay off after achieving independence. If 5 UN members are the security council their right to vote on anything should be removed as they are 'the enforcers' and the 'other countries' can arrive at a 'just determination' without their 'wisdom' being needed. Take away all vetoes and the powerless might start to get some power so they better be making the right calls. Following the 5 means the world follows their wishes.

Seems to me blame 'n' shame is the act of one who fears looking inward

It is and that's the magic. cha ching cha ching the got the international community planting trees in their new suburbs. That's magic, black magic. Looking inward I couldn't pull the trigger on kids with a ball on a beach on a sunny day but they did, they're a very long way down inward.

History books have the same failing as the Bible. Both tend to be rewritten to suit whatever is politically correct at the time. If only the powers that be could just understand they don't have to come out fighting after they've shaken hands and a bell rings

The bell rang a very long time ago LW, polarity is a rule of nature, we are here to be ground like food for the gods, there can't be right without wrong here where we are. The powers that are know this understand it from early on, it's the part of human nature. They won't change, that wouold eliminate the selection process

That's why I added the part about the security members not having a vote let alone a veto vote. If the UN is the body that is supposed to show that being a majority does have meaning when it starts out that any 1 of 5 members has more power than all the 100+ other ones combined. Nobody is saying it doesn't need some changes, after all it was UN documents that were being adopted and that covered the children and the women, the ones whose lives are worth the least in society. For that group to be 'accelerated a few levels' it will seem like they are (unfairly) getting special treatment but that is an illusion as they do not rise above what the 'elite of today' have.

I'm not for a one world bank either but I would support the RCC Nuns running it as a non-profit place where the poor get the best deals on loans. It is one thing to demand changes in a broken system but the 'change' should be easy to implement and be almost maintenance free once implemented. That it runs smoothly is how it resists becoming corrupt. If banking can be fixed with a few mouse clicks perhaps politics can take the same route. Let a taxpayer have the right to enter his own vote (in referendum style) so some drunk in Orrawa doesn't get to support a bad deal jst because he is told to vote a certain way. With the voters being able to have the results displayed to the appropriate politician it isn't like he can ignore them and vote a different way without the voters knowing that. The recall home wouldn't be long in coming.

I cannot understand those who have no sympathy for the Palestinian civilians (infants, children, women, the elderly) caught in the crossfire in the Gaza ghetto. It is time for the international community to put pressure on the Israeli government.

I don't think it's uncommon for people to blindly excuse or even ignore atrocities committed by the sides they identify with. It seems like a sad but natural response to a heavily polarized debate. It comes up in all wars and it's why this kind of slaughter is never stopped.

It boils down to when you meet somebody who says one thing and does another it is going to be bad news that just gets worse with age. The only cure is to back away rather than chastise them and hope they change. You taking away your moral/physical support is the catalyst that makes change possible, unfortunately it sometimes ends up as change for the worse.
