Really? I would have attributed 80% of Hitler's Josef Stalin and the other 20% to Hitler's own insanity. Churchill had very little to do with "winning" WWII. He had everything to do with British morale and that's pretty much it. Nothing very earth shattering

Yep.

Except he saw it coming.

And being the focus point of defiant morale is kinda "earth-shattering" in its own way...

In Canada?

John A. Macdonald.
Wilfred Laurier.

In the USA?

Thomas Jefferson
Abraham Lincoln
Theodore Roosevelt

Gotta love Winston :)
Henry II

Just off the top of my head.

Not great, but I admired?

Lester Bowles Pearson 14th Canadian PM

Accomplished many important items of agenda that are helping Canadians today 43 years later. Typical of the liberal mind.

The Duke of Wellington

"In for a penny in for a pound"

"Up and at them"

"No cheering men... move forward and complete your victory."

"So you have"

England...

Bevan, Cromwell or Peel (maybe Disraeli)

US....

FDR, Jefferson, L Johnson (not much else)

Everyone seems to forget Ataturk dragging the Turks kicking and screaming into the 20th century, or Ivan III who took Moscow from a third rate city to an empire that stretch from sea to sea

Hmmm...Cromwell was a bit of a butcher....you obviously ain't Irish :). Peel and Disraeli I could get on board for......

You are right about Ataturk as well, but for my money the greatest Tsar was Peter. (although another butcher)

How about Ghengis Khan?

Sorry Socrates, but after Trudeau and Mackenzie King, Pearson is the most over-rated PM in our history....IMHO.

I think Trudeau may well have been the worst Prime Minister we ever had. Mulroney was too stupid to hold that distinction.

Trudeau was a charismatic figure who, from the late 1960s until the mid-1980s, dominated the Canadian political scene and aroused passionate reactions. "Reason before passion" was his personal motto. "He haunts us still," biographersBiography Summary

Admirers praise the force of Trudeau's intellect. They salute his political acumen in preserving national unity and establishing the Charter of Rights and FreedomsCanadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms

The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is a bill of rights entrenched in the Constitution of Canada....
within Canada's constitution. His detractors accuse him of arrogance, economic mismanagement, and unduly favouring the authority of the federal government in relation to the provinces. Nevertheless, few would dispute that Trudeau was a towering figure who helped redefine Canada.
The charter of rights and freedoms did not exclude you JLM, I SUPPOSE A MAN WHO THINKS IN AN INCLUSIVE MANNER IS A BAD PERSON ACCORDING TO YOU.
The patriation of the constitution was a good thing for Canada.

Today my friend all off us here in this forum we are enjoying the freedom of speech we otherwise had not been for the charter of rights and freedoms you and I would not be a s free as we are today. So...............FREEDOM A BIG WORD.....BECAUSE OF A GREAT LIBERAL PRIME MINISTER, GOD BLESS PIER ELIOT TRUDEAU.
Oh by the way when Trudeau died Ottawa shut down for the mourning of Trudeau's passing while millions upon millions parade on the streets of Canada to show their love and respect, sorry to say my friend a notoriety you personally will never enjoy in this life for the obvious reasons. You do have the civil right not to like the man………………..as longs as we are able to truly justify a good solid reason.

Hey guys, who do you think is the greatest leader in the world? He/She could be dead or still alive....

I would personally pick Adolf Hitler....although he commanded the SS troops to kill 3 million Jews and many million others...he gave everyone jobbs...

Sine000

How you arrived at Hitler as the worlds greatest leader is beyond belief – Purges soon after he took power, beginnings of the Concentration camps – Murdering the disabled started well before WW2 – As to jobs – Germany in 39 was a military, yes but Hitler knew that it would be outdated by 42 – as other European countries started to wake up.

So is your sole justification for Hitler as greatest leader is he created jobs – Well FDR did the same.

My how sad I am –
I note how many posters are mostly stuck in the 18th and 19th century – A lot of great leaders who shaped the modern world are simply overlooked or forgotten. Is that not reflective of our educational system as well.

Point - Not one word on Charlemagne –

And another to mention – QueenElizibeth 1 -

The greatest leader of all time , is Hugo Chavez, the only leader who has balls to nationalize everything he can for the goods of his civilians, the only one who will tell the truth right in western politicians faces.

He kicked out the Israeli ambassadors out of his country, for the palestinians cause.

The only leaders who are for the poor, he has survived from the Scumbags cia coup d'état in 2002.

Long live to Hugo Chavez.

Yes Hugo is the man – that is if you are against any type of democracy or civil rights –for intimidation – both violent and peaceful – He is that man – How did you arrive at a handle like Logic 7 as your opinion is beyond logic – more along hysteria and hate. Have you ever opened a history book?
