for ‘being a woman’ despite Obama campaign request

Hillary Clinton refused to go along with a request by the 2008 Obama presidential campaign to attack Sarah Palin immediately after she was tapped as Sen. John McCain’s Republican running mate, the former secretary of state revealed in a new interview airing Tuesday.

“The day she was nominated, the Obama campaign did contact me and asked me if I would attack her,” Clinton said in an interview with NBC’s Cynthia McFadden, airing in full tonight on Nightly News. “I said, ‘Attack her for what — for being a woman? Attack her for being on a ticket that's trying to draw attention? There'll be plenty of time to do what I think you should do in politics, which is draw distinctions.’”

Nice to see someone actually try to take the high road during an election.

I don't think Hillary could pass a physical. What's with the major weight gain? Something is seriously wrong with this poor female.

JFK probably wouldn't have either but he still got the job for all the good it did him.

The next time the Dems take the high road will be the first time.

Dude... really?

The Democrats crucified Palin. They still do to this day and STILL think that Palin ACTUALLY said she can see Russia from her backyard.

I didn't say anything about the Democrats, I was referring to Clinton as an individual. She was obviously over ruled on this by the other Democrats as you point out.

I get what you're saying but she is part... a big part of that party. It sounds like she's tempering the field.
