Leftists have a psychological condition called "mirror imaging" in which they presume that Muslims use the same logic and thought processes, and hold the same values as they do. Leftists also perceive Muslims as fellow victims with whom they should make common cause against the common enemy, to wit, patriarchal white male culture, traditions and institutions.
What feminists don't realize is that Islam is patriarchal. Without the veil all adult females are subject to rape and subjugation. That's why we see secular feminists in many Western European cities wearing a veil for their own protection.

If what you're saying has any truth in it then how do you explain that lefties demand separation of church and state while delusional righties demand and defend it? If anything righties and theocratic Muslims have far more in common since they both demand theocratic state. In fact, Muslim girls and their families are more likely to be targeted by Hindus in the Indian subcontinent because of interracial/ethnic/religious marriages or relationships. Very true. In fact Dalits (the so called 'Untouchables') have been suffering from this torment for ages without the slightest objection from Christians. Many Dalits in the subcontinent converted to Islam because this is the only religion in the world that condemned the bigoted caste system and systematically worked to end it. To this day they are still persecuted and remain victims of "honour killings".
Any Religious Minority in Asia are treated like crap- It is not just in India- Muslim religious minorities, regardless of Sunni- Shia etc are when the minority treated as heretics.
The Islamic Religion in these countries are centuries behind the West in basic human rights. basically non existent regardless of whatever UN Conventions they have signed.
And when they arrive in a democracy they can be angered, confused and wonder why we in the West live as we do.
So a period to adjust for some can be very confusing and does indeed take time. Generations really.
But they came for a reason- Freedom. And that in itself can be scary, unsettling and open for many questions.
