Temperature in British Columbia are no higher today than they were in July of 1941 so that myth can be put to bed! :)

Well, that certainly explains all the forest fires.

Putting out fires for the past 140 years has depleted the soil, weakened the trees and built up fuel on the forest floor.

The natural burn cycle for alpine and boreal forest is 40 years on average.

If the forests were healthy they'd be creating there own rain buy releasing turpenes to seed the clouds.

Doubt me? Look it up.

All I know is that you can keep on making excuses for heat-inspired events like forest fires in California, southern Europe, BC, Indonesia, and other places, but eventually you run out of excuses that deny higher average temperatures and unusually prolonged droughts.

Really? That's more than halfway to the boiling point of water. It was only 30+ here for about a week. Mind you Edmonton rarely gets over 30.

You having been a teacher explains why kids today are so stupid. Water boils at 212 degrees at sea level. So not even 1/3 of the way there.

Around half of our fires are human inspired. I'm guessing they were your former students.

I was up in Dawson a few decades back and they were saying that German tourists commented that the fireweed around reminded them of the fireweed everywhere in the ruins of the German cities after the war.

I also witnessed a fire 100 miles long and travelled a portion of the Klondike Highway that was still smoldering on both sides with orange tarmac from fire retardant.

Yeah I'm such a bad teacher that I posted a comment you completely failed to understand. Ever heard of sarcasm? Don't worry I had lots of students like you - those who actually resisted being educated.

Because it grows there? Try to ask a more intelligent question next time if you are capable of it.
