Updated: One thousand Plus Reasons why Harper is a scumbag

Which politician isn't? I just wish Harper would own up to his lying about his planned deployment of the troops in Iraq.

If they have to engage in combat so be it, but why lie about it?

Making sense of Alberta’s political turmoil as resignations abound ahead of expected snap election

Why go to the polls now?

The price of oil is in free fall and Prentice keen to consolidate his mandate, something he has a better chance of doing earlier, rather than later. “It’s clear that an election is coming,” said Duane Bratt, a political-science professor at Mount Royal University. “People are making their choices.”

Writing on the wall

Those resigning are former Redford-era cabinet ministers from the centre-left of the party — Doug Griffiths, Donna Kennedy-Glans, and Mary Anne Jablonski. They follow their colleagues, former health minister Fred Horne and former finance minister Doug Horner. “It’s resignation day!” lamented an admittedly negative Stephen Carter, Ms. Redford’s former chief-of-staff and campaign manager. “A whole bunch of people figured out they are not going to be in cabinet any more — or ever.”

If Justin was smart, he'd do whatever it took to get Paul Martin to return to politics. With the promise of Paul as finance minister, the coming election would be a slam dunk for the Libs. Only card carrying Conservative party supporters have any faith in Harper.

Good old Mr. Dithers.

Yup. With Martin minding the store in Ottawa and Ralph in charge in Edmonton, it was a great time to be a fiscal conservative. It is rather funny that some folks that claim to be fiscal conservatives disagree. I wonder why that is.

It took awhile for us in B.C. to realize what a dismal failure Martin was as finance minister, and then we woke up one morning and found the province was wearing all the debt! I rather doubt he could pull that off a second time. Besides he's getting a bit long in the tooth. I think Joe Oliver may be as competent as anyone, since the demise of Jim Flaherty.

BC is a silly place and their collective failings lie on there own doorstep. I'm not surprised you would chose to blame others for your failures. Perhaps I've been mistaken and it isn't due to you being a senior but in the fact you're from BC

Uh-oh...you're getting angry again. Have you tried going for a walk like I've suggested?

Not angry at all, just trying to put you on track to some logical thinking and perhaps see yourself for you are!:) How many bitches you slapped this morning?

Logical thinking? Coming from you that's rather funny? So, logically speaking, why do you think a fiscal conservative would be unhappy with a balanced budget and a booming economy? Thinking logically of course

I have difficulty with the article. I've never agreed with the one pony show that our present govt got behind, however, many Canadians did. It was easy money. And I'm not so sure that the other parties, save the Green Party, would not have done things much differently. And what if ISIS overthrew - like as if - Saudi Arabia, and oil prices climbed through the roof? And what if, Congress and the Pres found common ground and approved the pipe line in short order?

Its not so much that the strategy has presently proved faulty, the real question is, what is going to be done about it. And if the response is "don't worry, oil will bounce back up" then don't vote for them. Economies should not be run by religion leaders, ie, based on hope and prayer. Rather, vote for the party that says something along the lines of "we are hoping oil prices will bounce back up, but to smooth out the economic ups and downs inherent with a commodity economy, having learned the lesson, we are going to do this...", then you should vote for the party that offers the best approach.

There's a term for that, which escapes me at the moment. Anyway a fiscal conservative would be very happy with a balanced budget and booming economy. When parasites and drones flit off to Phoenix they are not pulling their weight to achieve it. Oh yeah maybe "false premise" is what I was grasping at! :)

You need to come down.

Yeah, can you figure out what he's been smoking or snorting?
