You mean on voting?

I am not certain what would happen if his party wins an election but he loses his riding.

I am assuming the party would need to choose another leader from the lower right buttock in on Shmegmonton.
That's interesting. I hadn't thought of that. It would be cool if the Buttockians could bring down the PM.

No, I was more wondering if the Buttockians ever felt a little neglected with their Member getting all national and international, and not taking care of home issues.

As a person old enough to have voted more than once I can safely say an elected MP gives up his seat for the unelected party leader

That's half of it, the other half is for the P.M. win a by election. We just went through that in B.C. with the Premier.

Question, mentalfloss. As I understand it, the PM of Canada does and must remain the Member from the riding of Lower Left Buttock, Coldsnowchewan, correct?

Wrong province! :)

Unfortunately, even as a doula, he still knows more about the economy than Harper.

Tis a shame really.

All that snake oil going down the drain.

I don't think you need to be elected to be Prime Minister. I'm not sure actually. I remember Harper appointing a couple of cabinet ministers who were not elected.

The normal course of events, if teh PM were to lose his seat would be to parachute him into a safe riding where he would win handily and give the poor sucker who stood aside for him a Senate seat.
