Far-right Minister Smotrich: Israeli Resettlement in Gaza Now a 'Realistic Plan'

'We did not sacrifice these prices to transfer Gaza from one Arab to another,' the minister said, speaking at a conference marking the 20th anniversary of the Israeli pullout from the territory. 'Gaza is an inseparable part of the Land of Israel,' he said

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich addressed the reestablishment of Israeli settlements in Gaza on Tuesday, saying what was once "wishful thinking" has now become a "realistic work plan."

"We did not sacrifice these prices to transfer Gaza from one Arab to another," the minister said of the war in Gaza, speaking at a conference marking the 20th anniversary of the Israeli pullout from the territory. "Gaza is an inseparable part of the Land of Israel," he added.

The so-called disengagement plan, conducted under then-Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in the summer of 2005, entailed evacuating over 8,000 Israeli settlers from the Gaza Strip, the vast majority of whom were centered in the Gush Katif settlement bloc. The enclave was occupied in the 1967 Six-Day War, while the first Israeli settlement in the territory was established in 1970.

Smotrich, a staunch supporter of settlements in the West Bank and a long-standing critic of the Israeli pullout, was active in the protest movement against the disengagement before its completion. According to Agriculture Minister Avi Dichter, who was then head of the Shin Bet security service, he was even arrested while attempting to burn vehicles on one of Israel's main highways.

It disgusts me that this guy is Ukrainian.

Yeah, ok, if Da’Jews nefarious plan is to just take over Gaza all along, then why did…
Israeli pullout from the territory.
marking the 20th anniversary
…Israel “pullout from the territory” ??? That would be 2005 if they’re “marking the 20th anniversary” of that happening…

Why would they do such a thing? How does that fit into today’s goat rodeo? Did it lead to peace (or a cease-fire?) at the time? Maybe even a temporary peace (or cease-fire) for a decade or two, or for a couple years, or something like that?

Until committed, I always pulled out.

You'll have ask the Israeli Finance and security ministry why they want in so badly and why they've ramped up the terrorism and settlements in West Bank and why they illegally occupy Lebanon and Syria as well.

My guess is it's part of the 120 year old plan for a Greater Israel at any cost that jackasses think is a conspiracy theory 🤔.

Ahhhhh…the bigger longer secret plan. That’s why they pulled out of Gaza two decades ago, & gave the ground south of Israel back to Egypt, etc…got it.

What’s different on the north side with Lebanon & Syria?

Why be upset with me? Im not an MK, get mad at Smotrich. He's been very vocal since day one in office. Maybe he's a Hamas plant?

Even they openly say what they are doing and it's a secret plan? They aren't good at keeping secrets by openly announcing intentions are they?

I’m not upset with anybody. I was upset with my lawnmower, when the pull rope broke, but then I just replaced it ($7) & I’m back out mowing last night.

Screw the pull rope. Take the recoil off and use an impact gun on the crank/magneto nut to start it. No more mad at lawnmower or even better snowblower.
It’s an easy pull, and it’s already fixed, and the last one (rope) lasted more than a decade. It is kind of a son of a bitch though that Briggs & Stratton decided to rivet that together😁 but I ended up just taking the whole shroud off, and though awkward, it wasn’t complicated.
