By the way, yesterday a UPS employee in San Francisco shot three colleagues and himself to death, and wounded two others. But that's not important.

On Wednesday night, Sean Hannity opened his monologue live from Alexandria, Virginia by addressing the shooter of the GOP baseball practice, bringing up how he was a “staunch leftist” who “hated all things Republican, conservative, and especially President Trump.”

After mentioning that he was a big Bernie Sanders supporter, Hannity acknowledged that the shooter “does not represent all Bernie Sanders supporters” and took a shot at Bill Clinton for blaming talk radio for the Oklahoma City bombing and said “we’re not going to stoop” to his level.

He did go on to tackle the “record level of vicious left-wing hate,” which he called the
“biggest issue we have to face as a country
.”

The Fox News host cited the controversial Shakespeare in the Park production of Julius Caesar that depicts President Trump’s assassination, Kathy Griffin’s photo shoot of her hold Trump’s bloodied severed head, Madonna’s angry rant from the Women’s March where she said she “thought a lot about blowing up the White House,” and Snoop Dogg’s music video of him shooting Trump with a fake gun.

Hannity added he can “spend hours” with examples of liberal celebrities “glorifying violence” against President Trump.

What was the rights' rallying call?
"hitlary for jail"

Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh both excoriated the media on Wednesday for radicalizing Americans and mainstreaming violent rhetoric in the wake of a shooting attack on congressional Republicans.

Two of America’s most famous conservative radio hosts say some culpability for the Alexandria, Virginia, ambush that sent Rep. Steve Scalise and at least four others to the hospital rests with the media.

Each man separately told his millions of fans that 66-year-old gunman James Hodgkinson was ultimately responsible for his actions, but that his delusions were stoked by violent rhetoric.

“I’ve been talking often on my radio show about the rise in violence on the left,” Mr. Levin said in a video posted to his Facebook page. “The language is violent, the conduct is violent, and that it is getting increasingly more dangerous. Now, of course, the point is that you have kooks out there.

You have people who are on the edge. When you dumb down or mainstream violence, these people become violent and they act out.”

“I make no excuses for a murderer or a would-be murderer like this guy Hodgkinson, but on the other hand I make no excuse either for the rhetoric of the left, the media coverage on the left, for the nature in which our president has been attacked — where assassination becomes mainstream,” he continued.

Mr. Limbaugh shared similar sentiments on his radio show, noting the abundance and brand of political commentary shared on Mr. Hodgkinson’s social media pages.

“I think these people on the left have been driven to this extreme for quite a while. I have been worried about it for I don’t know how long,” Mr. Limbaughsaid. “I could read you statements made by elected Democrats and others promoting just this kind of behavior, just this kind of behavior. You can find it. If you look at the TV programs and the media personalities that this guy, Hodgkinson, was devoted to, you’ll find out how radicalized he was by left-wing TV and comedy.”

“I don’t know that this guy’s ever been a rational, invisible functioning member of a community, but at some point he got radicalized, and if you dig deep you’ll find — we’ve got examples of it to share with you,” Mr. Limbaugh said. “This guy is the exact personification when I sit here and talk about the lunatic fringe base, the deranged base of the Democrat Party. This is the guy. This is the face. This is the picture.

This is what you get when you stoke and fuel hatred, raw hatred and resentment, at some point it’s gonna blow over, because it cannot be contained, this kind of rage and repeated disappointment.”

The gunman, who worked as a volunteer for Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign, died from wounds after a shootout with cops.

Mr. Sanders condemned the assailant’s acts as “despicable” shortly after his identity was confirmed.

And what about all those other times when it was right wingers?

This entire thing is horrific, be you left or right. Another pos human thinking they have the right to take lives of people 'just cause'.

IMO this whole situation STILL proves that there needs to be some sort of gun... something. Registration, restriction, whatever.

Canada has tough laws on guns. Yet about once a week someone is killed with an automatic handgun.

KKK were mostly democrats.

All kinds of assorted handguns. Most are semiauto, some auto, few are revolvers for some reason. Probably not as many are automatic as our news media proclaims.
Sigh. You might could brush up on gun terminology before you make a fool of yourself again.

Possibly one on SSRIs an' all...

why the preoccupation with SSRI's?

By the way, yesterday a UPS employee in San Francisco shot three colleagues and himself to death, and wounded two others. But that's not important.

it's only important if he had obvious political leanings... How are they to feel self righteous indignation if there is no obvious political affiliation?

The KKK was founded by Democrats and has always been fully stocked by them.

they were founded by christians. Does that have any weight?.

Ah, the great left/right divide: sheeple on both sides can't fathom that the government is there to divide and conquer. Y'all being played like cheep fiddles and y'all be oblivious to the obvious. Both the Conservatives/Liberals, Republicans/Democrats are all financed by the same gang of rich bastards.

BIG LIST OF DRUG-INDUCED KILLERS
According to a data set of U.S. mass shootings from 1982-2012 prepared by Mother Jones magazine, of 62 mass shootings carried out by 64 shooters, the majority of the shooters (41) were noted to have signs of possible mental illness — the precise kinds of mental illnesses that psychotropic medications are prescribed for.

I'm not entirely sure if it's causation. I will agree there's a correlation, but I wonder if they weren't on an SSRI if they'd have done worse or done early or both.

I'd have to also consider an incorrect diagnosis, incorrect dosage, if they were actually using their meds properly and at all.

I will agree if you committ a mass shooting, serial killings, etc you ARE mentally unhealthy and unstable.

the blackbox warnings are right on the boxes

"New Study Confirms What CCHR Has Said for Decades—Antidepressants Cause Violence

Antidepressant drugs can cause violent behavior.

That’s what mainstream press such as the LA Times and Reuters are reporting, based on a new study published in a respected medical journal, PLOS Medicine, which found young adults between the ages of 15-24, were nearly fifty percent more likely to be convicted of a homicide, assault, robbery arson, kidnapping, sexual offense and other violent crime when taking the antidepressant than when they weren’t taking the psychiatric drug"
