Are we sure this is random violence?

Are there not rational (as in accountable for your actions, not psycosis) if not disgusting reasons this could have occurred?

Was the gunman a KKK member and the swimmers minorities?

Were the swimmers (or at least one) the child of a prominent law enforcement official and the gunman an organized criminal?

We really don't know any details here do we?

Well, OK, but I hate to take the responsibility and blame for a sickening crime such as this and the bus incident as well, and put it on something other than the perpetrator. It doesn't matter what his excuse is, he is a human taking the lives of other humans, and
not allowing them to live, if he is so frustrated with his life, take 'IT' and not someone
elses, he isn't that wacked out , as he is making sure he saves himself.

Oh ... it's always a certain lack of moral fibre in the perpetrator. Random kill is an extreme control freak acting on his rage. I wonder how many really close and long-lasting personal relationships this guy has ever had, or how many times he's been refused at the bank. Yeah ... he'll save himself because he's all that matters.

Again though, do we really know that this is a random kill?

Too bad they 'tracked' rather than 'hunted' him in the end. I truly hoped they'd find him refusing to lay down his gun. Alas, he went with them. Damn.

Of course he did. It wasn't unarmed defenseless people he was facing anymore. Typical coward. I hope he gets a life sentence without parole.

A truer statement could not be made.

3 free meals a day is kind of misleading, and safer is a definate no. Especially if he does turn out to be a psycho.

What on earth makes you think he'd be safer inside than out? The type of people who take violent retribution are the type of people in gen pop. There is a reason the government isn't allowed to let peoples crimes slip.

If someone's hungry and homeless, a roof, a bed and three squares a day is better than what they have. Even if the neighbours are spooky, have you seen what they share the steet with?

If you are hungry and homless you don't have a $2,000 dollar assault rifle.

In all seriousness, how many hungry and homeless people have you ever seen with a $2000 assault rifle? If he'll kill, B&E and theft are child's play. Hungry and homeless are just an example of someone to whom three hots and a cot may be an alternative.

But that's not real tracking. :D
lol Sorry. Was just echoing a certain other poster.

Of course you were... as you have no ability to keep BS from one thread in that thread and have to carry it over to other threads..... Seriously grow up.

There's a difference between tracking and hunting, and just because the media said "Hunting" doesn't mean they're right.

Anywho, moving on......

As the economy worsens, and desperation takes bigger chunks out of rational thought, more people are going to flip out.

Sounds about right. People losing homes, jobs, money, families (be that by war, divorce, or other murders), and with it all comes the loss of caring.

And some people tend to get into the mentality that if their lives are going to go in the crapper, they might as well take a few people with them.... usually those they feel don't diserve such a wonderful life.

Too bad I was away for a few days... Here is another prime example of the stupidity of the yankee's right to bear arms....

Okay, so, the question was raised... was this really random?

According to THIS ARTICLE there may be a possible reason for the shooting of this specific group of teens.
