Gun safes are a place to store your gun so that a thief can't steal it.

Also handy for keeping kids from playing with them.

Northern Ontario,
I have an absolutely legal gun locker in my basement shop, but that sucker can be opened in seconds with the tools I have there!
But I also have trigger locks which are a little harder to bypass!

I agree and no where in the article did it say that any of the residences broken into didn't have a gun safe or unsecured firearms so I didn't know where you were headed with your trolling post.

when the Harper government scuttled the long gun registry they were forced to rewrite all of Canada's safe storage laws.

so you can bet your bottom dollar that Canada has the best and most logical and practical safe storage laws on earth.

Probably, are you done blaming the victims of armed home invasion yet?

Hey wait a minute.

Remember that Danforth shooting thingy?

Handgun used in Toronto mass shooting stolen during break-and-enter in Sask.: source

So what? Breaking into a gun store, stealing guns, and using them in a commission of a crime doesn't mean the guns weren't stored improperly, or that a long-gun registry would prevent such crime. Break and enter is illegal....theft of of guns is illegal....using guns in commission of a crime is illegal....murder is illegal.... a handgun is not a long gun, and you are an idiot. More laws won't help any of that, unless they outlaw idiocy.

Ok I see you are not done blaming the victims of B&E's yet, nothing in your article says anything about unsecured storage or anything unlawful by the owner's storage of firearms. It does say a POS broke into a business and a home in Sask. and stole the firearms in question then used them in the worst way possible.

Way to go Hoid cheer on the criminals, who's to blame the lawful firearm owners or the POS criminal?

I know that when Harper scrapped the gun registry he did it to prevent all future gun violence.

But it does not seem to have worked out.

Still victim blaming I see, Do you have a citation for your allegation? He did it to get rid of an expensive useless program.
