Oh look the gun ban is working already

Multiple suspects sought by Toronto police after stabbing at subway station

Calgary police search for suspects after stabbing outside Sheldon Chumir Centre

Gun bans are of course only designed to insult hunters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And to also insult target shooters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two groups that LIE-berals DESPISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the LIE-beral anti hunter lobby is seeking to SUCK UP........................................

to radical animal rights groups such as PETA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peta believes it should be a CRIMINAL OFFENSE to shoot a nuisance bear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The PETA prescribed solution to nuisance bears is SIMPLE- ALL HUMANS MUST LEAVE THE AREA...........................

until the bear CHOOSES to wander off on its own!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't even recall a firearms death in Britain in 2019. There may have been at least one, but I can't recall any and I can find none in the news.

There was a terror attack at Fishmongers Hall and on London Bridge, but it was a series of stabbings and there would likely have been more deaths had he had easier access to guns.

So, on the firearms score, all continues to be well here.
Last one was Labour Party politician, Jo Cox in northern England in 2016 (she was also stabbed a lot). The last one before that was 25 years or thereabouts earlier. Brits tend to like stabbing people. Not sure if it is because of gun bans or preference.

Who is to say that the high rate of knife murders couldn't be further reduced by allowing law abiding citizens to arm their homes. Clearly, a criminal with a knife is no match to a father protecting his family with a gun.

I'm not picking on you, really I'm not. :)

There were 29 homicide victims killed by shooting in the year ending March 2018, three fewer than the previous year. The number of homicides by shooting has fluctuated between 21 and 32 over the last six years. In the previous five years2, there were between 39 and 60 homicides by shooting a year and the number of these offences is 45% lower than a decade ago.

Note too that this is England and Wales, excluding Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The murder rate (more to the point) in the UK is 1.2 per 100,000, compared to 1.8 per 100,000 in Canada.

Most people once thought the Earth was the center if te universe too. They were wrong.
Anyway, I won't want to live in a city at the best of times and certainly not one where a significant proportion of the population is carrying. I just don't like the odds.
In my neighbourhood a significant portion is packing illegally and I feel pretty damn safe.

I'm not cutting into their meth, fentanyl, pills and girls market.

To me, it's simple: keep the nutjob criminals, the wacko cops, and the do-gooders with the hero complexes from having guns and things should be ok. Also, the more guns out and about, the more shootings there are bound to be because humans can't control themselves all the time. Acquire the attitude that guns are for hunting, protecting one's investments in stock and other property, target shooting, and collecting, not for getting revenge, getting other people's stuff, etc.
Again, I would rather scoot from a scene and not present myself as a target than stay and shoot it out.
I'm a do-gooder hero who carries a gun wherever it is legal for me to do so. I'm also a trained, combat-experienced soldier and a licensed lawyer. I'm more qualified to carry a gun than most cops. I know how to use it, and I know when to use it. I go to the range 2-4 times per month, and I'm conversant with all the major cases on use of force, use of deadly force, and urban combat tactics.

Do you want to take my gun away?

Y'know, Anna, if some knucklehead decides it's his day to go out in a blaze of glory, and take you with him, Colpy and I are the two people hereabouts you want closest to you. Both of us would make sure you were down on the ground, behind bullet-proof cover, before we went all Dirty Harry.

Have you been hitting the bottle again, T-Bones?
I am, in large part, the sum of my experiences.

As are you. Sorry.

I accepted that. Then concealed carry might not be a cause of a reduction in gun violence.
Anyway, when it comes to it, I would rather find cover than stay and shoot it out with some wacko criminal (or a twitchy cop or some dogoody cowboy with a hero complex).
Its not the cowboys packin' in Canada. It's the NDNs.

Where is Hoid. (sniff)

I miss him.

Mostly because he runs zig zag, and hides behind the rocks in his head.

Intellectually speaking.

I agree. He is certainly intelligent. I rib him, the forum is better off with his presence.

Very much so.

The guy has a somewhat abrasive technique of closely questioning people on the forum, but he does it without regard to his own personal opinions, it is just his method. The Socratic Method, not the Tecumseh Method. :)

And smack him, and you will get smacked in return.

I like the guy.

The more the merrier . Just because I disagree , I am still interested what they have to say . Sometimes I actually change my opinion . Not often mind you .
