Every time I use it, it contains the energy of the round and directs it down range towards a paper target or nourishment.

I will leave it to anti-gun idiots to attempt to use a box of ammo at a range without a gun. All other methods of detonation are extremely dangerous.

The "hammer and a nail" method is pretty exciting.

And the "throw it in the campfire" method'll make 'em jump.

Lead shot is not used in Canada anymore, hasn't been for years.

That's news to me.

Lead shot is banned only for waterfowl hunting.

Ever been on a duck hunt? The boys launch a lot of shot over the same places year after year......it accumulates on the pond bottom, and is inevitably picked up by the ducks as they feed.

That is why.

It can not be compared to upland game hunting, either in quantities fired, the limited area it is fired over, nor is it ypically picked up by rabbits and grouse as they feed.

You said there is nothing wrong with lead ammo.

Also said that animals dying from lead ammo was BS.

Have you ever had an opinion that lasted longer than 45 minutes?

Non hunters are trying to claim fragments end up in the entrails and then coyotes, foxes etc eat said entrails when left behind after field dressing.

I've never shot a deer in the guts and I don't know any hunters who would.

it was total BS. Before anything was mandatory, 2/3 of hunters switched voluntarily on based on a poorly executed study that said ducks 'might' be eating lead shot and 'might' be affected. 8 years later, follow up studies were failing to validate the conclusions.

the real crime was many years of cripples while the industry failed to make a good steel shot load. In the early 90s, the 40-60meter kill zone became a probable cripple zone because most steel shot was blowing right through the ducks instead of taking them down. Overnight, we switched to our own loads because the store bought was crap. Not only that, but i remember dealers absolutely refusing to sell steel loads until all the lead load was bought up. The laws were in place for steel shot and you couldnt buy it at the local shops.

Sigh.

Do you actually read English, or do you just hold your laptop to your forehead, and see what you can absorb from that?

We were discussing about Canada making lead ammunition illegal not only for shotguns used in waterfowl hunting, but in all ammunition, shotgun, rifle and pistol.. We were not discussing legal restrictions that have existed for decades. And lead shot is not banned, it can only not be used for migratory game.

Two very different things.

Really, every time I give you a little polite education, you get all petulant and start firing back incoherent insults, like a six year old. (the average emotional age of an adult progressive)

Sigh

Its either bad or it isn't.

It's bad.

So all you little twots running around shooting your little guns - stop using lead. How smart do you have to be?

my rifle has a 1in grouping at 100 meters. Into an 8in kill zone I haven't missed in 38 years.

my shotgun has been shooting steel shot since the early 90s. I miss all this time....well, not quite.
you could not practice a less useful skill for self defense - your supposed "reason" for having a gun.

I had a hole in my canvas pup tent when I was a kid and one of my older brother's Scouting pals had a tendon in his arm severed by the latter method that you mention above. The Militia had been on manoevers (RMR?), had sloppily left live ammunition behind (7.62mm) and a particularly gormless Boy Scout tossed some into the fire ... in a place called St. Lazarre, Qc., circa 1967.

You jackass. Self defense is not a valid reason for owning hunting weapons in Canada. I have them to put nourishment on my family's table.

stictly anadoctal information. This country should not change significant policy over the actions of one dumb boy scout.

I use my car for that. .. Gotta nice new coonskin hat out of it, too!

Did you eat the meat, or did you waste it?
